They do test the bacteria levels daily, but the majority of the year the Ocean has been closed from the Border, past Imperial Beach up to Coronado Beach. If swimming in the ocean is a major amenity I would not stay in these areas, until further notice.\*\*\* Beach Club The beach club is a three story private, gated complex. The Beach Club is a U-shaped building that is located on the sand, no busy street or boardwalk separating you from the beach. That said, it would have been nice to have a few more basics provided—like condiments, extra beach towels, and more than two rolls of toilet paper. If you’re planning a stay, I’d recommend bringing along all the essentials you might need, such as toiletries, seasonings, and cooking oil.During our visit, the pool was closed and there was ongoing construction nearby, which did make things a bit less relaxing. The living room furniture is different from the photos, and the surrounding area does have some challenges, including a visible homeless presence. The positives are the management and cleaning services. Both are remarkable. By far the cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The negatives are the absolute sheer lack of essentials. There are no pot holders, no dish soap, no pizza pan, no pizza cutter. The pots are in desperate need of replacing. The carpet is utterly disgusting and in bad need of replacing. There could be more furnishings such as a sitting/reading area in the master bedroom. There are no personal touches. No extras. Just essential furnishings. The only thing that makes this unit desirable is the view. However, if you find a comparable view, then I feel like you can get more for your money elsewhere. ##### Dana B. There is plenty of beach where dogs are allowed. The unit is bright, cozy and the kitchen is well stocked. Could use a few new fry pans as the teflon is wearing off. There is a Mexican restaurant and liquor/convenience store next door. This was a Thanksgiving get away during COVID so the pool was off limits. Didn't need it. The beach was great and not crowded even during this time. If you have young children, there is a grassy play area next door and in front of the beach. ##### Barbara S. Great, easy beach access. The beach has nice smooth sand without rocks..perfect for kids. The condo is a great size for extended family. We cooked all meals and had all the supplies we needed. Wonderful communication with owners. Easy to get to restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. View from balcony is stunning in the mornings (not able to see sunsets from the balcony, view is blocked by other units, but you can just walk out to the beach for that!) Master bed was very comfortable with nice bedding. There were chairs and boogie boards available for the beach. The following are very minor, but merit mentioning. Areas for improvement for cleanliness: carpet is badly stained throughout. We moved the side table to play cards and there was food still under the table from the last guests. Not awesome reassurance during a pandemic that housekeeping was done well between families. We were only given 2 rolls of TP and 2 garbage bags for a week for the whole 3 bdrm unit. (We bought our own, but those are items that have always been provided in past rentals) General Areas for improvement: living room furniture is “well loved”; badly faded and the arm chair leather cushions are cracked completely and had to have a towel over it or it scratched your legs. Dining table and chairs old, faded and stained/scratched. Could use overall updating in common area, but those are mainly just cosmetic and didn’t interfere with our stay.
