Île Verte

I liked the location which was close to many attractions. I didn’t like that I could not contact anyone at reception for assistance. I tried for 1 hour to get someone to unlock my luggage from the luggage room. Their communication is not good.

This hotel is in a great location in Chinatown, between Downtown and Old town Montreal. Walking distance to Notredame Montreal and next to the subway station, which is a huge convenience and easy to find food around. BUT few block and you see a street with over 20 drunk and homeless people. Staff are helpful but not friendly. Now for amenities, the hotel has their dining room although breakfast is not included and it's quiet pricey for mediocre food they served. You can just go outside and find Asian food for cheaper price. The hotel also provides Parking, nice Asian themed lobby with Koi pond, good size swimming pool and small sauna and gym. There's also Massage Spa and sauna on lower level. They all look like decently maintained. The main drawback/negative was the elevator. Elevators are in VERY NEED of update. Elevators can stop on which floor it wants to and doesn't run smoothly. Also the floor screen sometimes doesn't work so you don't know which floor the door open to. Also one night there was a fire alarm, that was Kind of SCARY. I hope they fix or change the elevators. Rooms are spacious but they definitely need update although they have nice pillows compare to some Holiday Inns I went to in Europe.

This had everything you need for a lovely stay in Quebec City. We were there too early for check in but the friendly staff secured our luggage and we made our way into Old Town. On return, you could get drinks in the lobby bar. Again bar staff were exceptionally friendly. Reception staff helped us find dinner outside of the hotel, practically walking us there. The onsite restaurant, the Louise, was handy for weary travelers and the food was delicious. We ate breakfast and dinner there. Our room was cozy and quiet even though we were on the first flour.
