I have a mixed review about this rental...First of all, the owners were amazing and accommodating, so we were very pleased about that. It really was difficult to know how to star rate this property... SOOO, The waterfront- I give it 4 stars because it was private (only the renters could use that deck at the water). They also provided two kayaks and a nice table with 6 chairs! It was amazing, peaceful and secluded.
The cottage - I would give it 3 stars...This is where I was conflicted...My husband and I were in one bedroom and my daughter and son-in-law were in the non-private sleeping area. It was clean and quaint and very cute BUT it really is set up better for a family with children because there is no privacy between second "bedroom", (sleeping space) and the kitchen/living area. There were a few kitchen essentials missing also, such as pot holders, a strainer for pasta, no cutting board for raw meat (there was a wooden one), no oven (just a small counter top one), no microwave. Also there is no private outdoor area. If you want to drink your coffee in the morning or your wine at night in privacy you are looking directly at the owners house with lots of windows, which is VERY close in proximity to the cottage. The description on their listing says there is a "privacy" garden but there isn't. Thats a big deal to us when we go to the river because most of us have close neighbors at home and I for one want to be able to feel like we can sit outside without someone looking out the window and watching us vacation. If that doesn't bother you or that isn't an issue for you then I give it 4 stars, but for us it was 3 stars because of the lack of privacy. SO...4 stars for riverfront and 3 stars for cottage.
