"We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

"The reserve is a nature lover's oasis. We were there in December, the biome is teeming with life. We spotted duiker, boomslang, baboons, mongoose and lots of colourful birds, butterflies, dragon flies and much more. The hike up the valley is beautiful.
Highly recommended if you want a peaceful back to nature retreat.

When the guys got to the hotel, it was clear that it hasn’t functioned as one in a while.
The owner of the ‘hotel’ even wanted to charge the guys R4k for a room with a double bed and a sleeper couch as, according to him, there were only 2 rooms available.

"The nicest place we have stayed in Nelspruit area. Very nice owners. Kind compasssionate and helpful. Highly recommended.Very nice rooms and excellent breakfast. I have stayed in many hotels and B+B's in this area and Sheppards Boutique Hotel is by far the nicest. Lovely pool and stunning views.We will definitely be back."

"Only stayed one night and enjoyed it thoroughly. They accommodated a last-minute request for dinner, which was very tasty and delivered to my room. Breakfast was very good as well. The staff was very friendly and responsive, and they have a very sweet dog (Mango) whose visits made the stay even more "
"American average style hotel room with American King size bed and comfortable mattress and pillows covered with clean sheets. Bathroom was clean with fair size shower stall and toilet size and with enough legroom to seat and enjoy morning d**p. This place met my expectations."
