We have a small herd of cattle, including several Scottish Highland cattle. The bulk of the land is native bush, with bush walks. Less than 1 km from the Pou Herenga Tai Twin-coast cycle way, and about 30 mins drive from both Kaikohe & Kerikeri. There is approx. 4km of un-tarsealed road to reach our place. With a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining room/lounge - it is comfortable, warm and homely. There is a wood-burner for those cold nights. We have cellphone reception (NOTE: phone calls require 4G VoLTE or 4G HD capability - not 3G which is the common one currently). There is also Freeview TV and limited WiFi. We have a security camera monitoring the entry gate to the property ONLY - it does NOT monitor the cottage. Apart from the occasional sound from some friendly animal, you hear burbling water and wind in the trees. Inside everything is ‘proper’ and well maintained. The fire has copious supplies of dry wood replenished daily, from trees on the property. The couches are comfy and the kitchen is well-appointed. Ōkaihau is 10 or 12 kms away and has cafes and stores. It is a lovely small traditional NZ town. Village? The location is convenient for all the destinations in the area whether Ngawha Springs, Kaikohe and all spots around the Hokianga. ##### John B. The Public road may be a bit of a challenge for some - winding and a shingle section with large potholes but lovely private snuggly cottage at the end of the day suited us perfectly. ##### Gail S.
