The room however does not match the photos. It was a decent place to sleep, which is the important part, but could easily be made better with little to no money. We went the whole time with no overhead light because the host couldn't be bothered to address the missing remote to the light. For a small amount, you could've gotten a decent looking toilet seat and a full length mirror on the wall. Also, I'm sure it would be easy to implement something to catch the dripping water from the air conditioner on the floor above to keep it from sounding like bombs hitting the unit in this room all night long every time their air turned on. Also the latch on the door didn't work which doesn't do much to make guests feel secure. I could say more, but these were the biggest issues and overall it was a decent place to stay if you're not planning to spend much time in the room. We really appreciated the beach supplies (only used the towels though) the bar down the hall, and the proximity to the beach. The ear plugs were a great touch! All the amenities are as advertised. The pool was too cold to enjoy but it was clean. The view is fantastic and the walk to the beach is easy. It is Waikiki so busy and lots of people constantly. That’s positive or negative depending on the person. My room was on the second floor and the sound couldn’t be heard. The staff of the hotel is nice and helpful. Nevertheless, the place is not really calm because it i located just next to a bar. ##### Marie B. Only issue that bothered me (my fiancé wasn’t bothered) was the traffic outside in the early morning, however I’m a light sleeper and we got used to it but other than that we had a great 2 week stay! Being on a lower floor and next to a busier street there was a lot of street noise all night long. Also being next to the zoo with public parking and a park, the people in the park were often screaming in the middle of the night and disturbing the peace. The room shared a hallway with a bar - the bar itself wasn’t loud but the patrons leaving were sometimes loud and obnoxious. They were easier to deal with than those in the park. I had a wonderful time here for the 3 days that I booked this stay. The property manager was very clear with the check-in instructions and the guys and girls at the hotel lobby were really nice and helpful the entire stay. For anyone wondering they will hold your luggage if you arrive early and there is not a resort fee for reservations made on this listing. The room itself was just exactly that - a room - there’s a perfectly usable mini fridge, a microwave, a keurig, cups, and flatware. The bed was really comfortable for me and the blankets were just fine. As far as the noise it wasn’t too bad it made it feel lively at night and the music really was not a problem at all. Some live artists that performed I was able to enjoy hearing just on the balcony. At night yes you can hear people gathering outside downstairs but it really wasn’t a big deal. The AC does drown out around 95% of the noise. I couldn’t hear any car sounds much in the mornings but I was also up pretty early everyday because who wants to sleep in when you’re here haha. The balcony doors could use some work they’re a little difficult to open but open they did each and every time. The hosts also provide beach towels and some beach equipment like chairs, boogie boards, umbrella, and a really useful beach mat. There’s hidden gem food spots in walking distance and pretty good coffee for all tastes. I will definitely be renting this again it’s an affordable and ideally located unit for a quick getaway! ##### Jason G. It definitely was what we expected based on pictures and the information regarding the property and also after reading the reviews. The room was right outside of a restaurant/bar that was pretty loud. But honestly, once we close the door and started watching TV you did not hear anything. This is a basic room, quite small. It was adequately furnished and is in reasonable condition. Most importantly the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. It was perfect for what we wanted, a place to sleep, shower and change and then go off to do area activities. It is very convenient to Waikiki and area restaurants and had wonderful views. The Optional parking is great and very convenient if you have a rental car. The host was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would come again. ##### Eleanor C. First off, there is no safe place to stop and check in. Front of the Waikiki Grand is on a busy street. I pulled in behind it in their small parking area off of Lemon St. Once we got into the room, there were a few things that were noticeably filthy. The ceiling fan, bathroom, floors and curtains all had stains or noticeable dirt. The sheets had holes in them. The vents were all dusty. We only managed to stay one night because we couldn’t get comfortable enough to stay longer than that. In the morning we noticed other things - I saw 3 cockroaches and killed 2 of them. The tub drain was clogged and water started pooling after a few mins of use. I had to turn the water on/off between shampooing, soaping up, etc. The Hula Bar noise was drowned out by the window AC which was SUPER LOUD on its own and it clanged throughout the night. On top of that there is the street noise which made our stay even less special. Owners were responsive but we had to forfeit one night because it was late in the evening and couldn't find any other options last minute. Do not stay here unless you don’t mind dirt, noise and cockroaches. ##### Melanie A.
