Decent hotel near the airport

Pros: Airport shuttle and breakfast.
Cons: Better quality beds and pillows.
Location: We were only there for one night so we didn't have a chance to do anything nearby.
We stayed for one night. Pros: breakfast, the staff were friendly and accommodating, pool, clean room, airport shuttle. Cons: uncomfortable pillows, bed is a little hard.

I gave the hotel five stars not because of its appearance but because of other things. The staff was as friendly as could be and when out of their way to make sure we were happy. they had a shuttle which picked u up and dropped u off at the hotel/airport. That alone saved me $120.00. the pool area was beautiful and clean. U got free Wifi and even printed my documents for free. if tou care more about appearance then this isnt the place for you. While it was nice you didnt get a wow factor walking in. But i would definately stay again based on other factors.

not what we expected

Not like the photo. Very atmospheric less hotel. View is of flyovers (perhaps to be expected at an airport hotel). room very average. 2 nights there and they didn't clean 1 of them - said the cleaner was ill. I've never been in a hotel where they don't clean. Dumped a load of towels in the room in a plastic bag...

Pros: Close to airport and free shuttle
Cons: Direct walkway between hotel from airport.
Location: Food options are very limited and you have to walk out on some pretty busy streets in an industrial side of town. There is a bus stop near the hotel
We had a one day layover from the Big Island on the way to Vancouver. The hotel is right next to the airport but you still need a shuttle to get there if you have luggage and kids or elderly individuals. The shuttle is free and a very short trip. It runs every 30 minutes. One nice feature is a late check out which costs about 85 dollars to stay until 6 pm. The rooms are clean and the the lobby is nice.

Pros: Not much I guess. It was fairly clean, fine, but next time I would take a taxi to another hotel even if it is further away.

Positive points: clean hotel overall and clean room Negatives: 1) Calling the hotel from the airport I was told that a shuttle would pick us up as soon as possible. Nothing happened for half an hour, so we decided to take a cab. Talking to the check-in staff resulted in no apology but only a "oh, I guess then the driver has missed you". 2) From an airport hotel I would expect at least basic food options such as sandwiches or something until midnight to accomodate for late arrivals. Given the restaurant closed at 9PM, we had to order from Domino's and wait for an hour for the delivery 3) Whilst providing a printer for guests to print documents is good, the printer available was out of toner, so I wasted 30 pages. The late night reception staff couldn't help. Fair enough but why not make sure that resources work??? 4) Water came into our room through the closed window (maybe a broken window seal) and resulted in a drenched carpet and a drenched bag. When I mentioned this to the reception staff in the morning and asked them to let house maintenace know the response was:"Oh, ok!". How about a "thanks for letting us know" at least??????? Neutra point: Also the room was fairly noisy but that's what you have to take into account if you book an airport hotel I guess.

The only reason to stay is if a room at the airport is required.

Very mixed experience

Pros: Shuttle to airport scheduled twice per hour and departed on time.
Cons: Handling of Expedia reservation, which was terrible. Utterly miserable attitude of at least one staff member.
Check-in was miserable. Shuttle to airport is scheduled to leave on hour and half-hour and was on time. Guest room flooring was all tile, not carpet, which was fine by me. Property is in good condition. Refrigerator with separate freezer and microwave in room. Immediately after I gave my name to her at check-in, and mentioned I had a prepaid Expedia reservation, the staff person immediately stated, in an annoyed tone, that my reservation was not on file ('not sent by Expedia') and that no room was available. She then abruptly left the desk area with no indication that there was a chance I might have a place to sleep in the hotel that night. I immediately phoned Expedia and once Expedia had a chance to call the hotel, the same staff person emerged shouting my name and 'Expedia' even though I was the only guest waiting at the counter. When I asked if she couldn't remember my face, her response was 'I see a lot of faces, Sir' with anger in her voice. Clearly, at least one staff person at this property either resents being expected to work, or considers customers who book at a discount unworthy of basic civility, much less hospitality. When she resumed her imperious attitude while acknowledging my reservation, I demanded to know why she had told me that no room was available. Instead of recognizing any of her multiple failures in customer service, she handed me off to her manager, who was more receptive to hearing my concerns.

Convenient to airport

Pros: Convenience, shuttle.
Cons: Safe in room.
Location: Nothing nearby, but a short cab/bus ride to Iolani Palace and Waikiki.
We stayed here for our last night on Oahu, in order to grab a couple extra hours of rest before an early flight, and to avoid dealing with traffic and rental car return even before starting a long travel day. We might have been a little spoiled after 8 days at the Four Seasons -- but this hotel was fine. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. There was in-room complimentary coffee, nice toiletries with a pleasant, light scent, and good water pressure. The free shuttle to the airport was very convenient, and the staff were very nice. I just really wish the hotel had a safe in the room. At the price point, and for an airport hotel, I would expect a safe. Other than that, the Airport Honolulu Hotel was fine.
