Located on the second floor, this corner unit can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests with a King bed in the master bedroom, a Twin Bunk beds in the second bedroom, and a Queen bed in the third bedroom. Please note this property does not have elevators. The open-concept living area features vaulted ceilings, modern furniture with coastal decorations, and a large flat-screen TV. More residential than commercial, which was perfect for us. The bedrooms were nice! We loved being able to leave all the windows open. The pool is right on the ocean. The little beach there is only accessible at low tide, which was fine for sticking your feet in. There's no a/c, so people need to know that. It was fine for us. The beds were okay. The bed in the loft is a bit hard for my taste. The location was perfect. Our trip to Road to Hana was amazing! We were there for my son's wedding and it was a perfect setting. The unit is spacious and we never felt on top of one another. Plenty of necessities to get you by for the first few days, including all of the beach chairs and umbrellas. Walking distance to so many good places to get coffee and eat great food. Great views, clean and quiet. The property is VERY well cared for. Having the pool was also nice when we were tired of being in the ocean. Pictures are accurate besides the bunk beds, they are now separate twin beds. The ONLY downside is how hot it gets (not the owner's fault). The condo would definitely benefit from an a/c unit. We will be back again and will not hesitate to book this condo! ##### Jennifer K. We were the only ones at the pool and could snorkel just steps from the condo! Having the pool and beach just steps from you was amazing! I love the feel of the condo with all the louvred glass windows, loft and plank ceiling. When we first arrived, the windows were shut tight, the fans were off, so we walked into an inferno but opening all the windows and turning on the fans made it pretty comfortable all night. The master bedroom does sit near the parking lot and with the windows needing to be open to stay cool it was loud with street noise and occasional people talking. I would say that the condo was moderately clean - the floors were dirty, there were crumbs left on the counter, and the one of the fans spit chunks of dust out when it was turned on. The drawers in the kitchen and bathroom all fall off the tracks and the ice maker was broken. The master bed needs to be replaced as it curves in the center so were sleeping on the edges. It is a typical Hawaiian beach house, with jalousie windows that are a bit old-fashioned. There is no air conditioning, making the loft bedroom a bit warm during the day but the unit cools off nicely at night with lots of fans and ocean breezes. There are no curtains on most windows making it somewhat light at night and not totally private. The lighting is a little sparse, especially over the dining room area. The pool is quite cold. The management was very responsive and well-organized. The unit has a satisfactory kitchen, and parking was never a problem. Overall, it was a very good stay for our family of six. ##### Richard S. We had a wonderful stay at the Hale Kai during our recent week in Maui. You cannot beat the location of this condo, you are steps away from the water so you hear the waves 24/7, the sunsets are incredible to view each night from your lanai, and there is a small beach area right off the property, or a larger beach/park right next to the property. It was amazing to not have to drive to get a great beach spot! It was a very quiet property too when we stayed, pool was never crowded and noise was never an issue. As is common in Maui, there is no AC in the unit, and it gets HOT. We have young kids who stayed in the bunk bed room (the pictures show a bunk bed but it’s actually 2 twins side by side), and it would be dangerously hot in that room during the day, over 90 degrees. We had to move them to our room for naps which was fine, but worth mentioning. There also is very little privacy in the bedrooms. The condo is mainly windows which is great for the views, but both the main bedrooms had large windows that weren’t frosted so people could see right in, you also rose with the sun since there were no curtains to block the light. The bedroom on the main level faces the parking lot and street, and the windows don’t fully close, so there is a bit of noise at night. The condo is spacious and very well equipped with everything you may need in the kitchen, as well as the beach. It wasn’t super clean when we got there which was a little disappointing, several dishes and utensils that were put away in the cabinets still had food on them, and the bathroom floors looked like they’d maybe missed being mopped. Overall it was a good spot for our family and we really enjoyed our stay. Mahalo! ##### Caitlin H. Restaurants and grocery stores were nearby. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, even basic spices. Even with 3 rain filled days this was a great location. Every morning/ late afternoon the turtles eating on the reef entertained us. After the storm a large pod of whales went by. Communication with property manager was handled quickly when a small issue arose. Would definitely rebook this unit again. If lights are a bother while sleeping bring a eye mask, no curtains.
