"I understand this place is very cheap and maybe I should not have high expectations. But, I was underwhelmed by the experience. First morning I was woken up very early (6:30 or so) by the cleaner banging doors outside my room. While in Korea I worked at night so I would sleep around 4:00 am or so. Sleep was important to me. The staff did caution her and she woke me up around 7:30 the next morning in a similar fashion. Then there was constant noise with megaphones coming from a park of some sort in front of the hotel. I stayed here 6 nights so as you can imagine, I did not sleep much. Another night, a baby cried his lungs out right by my room. The walls are very thin. Room service was a hit or miss. Coke sometimes came with a glass of ice and sometimes it did not. The last night I ordered spicy ramen and got food poisoning so bad I thought I was going to die the next day. The staff was kind and attentive generally, but this place is definitely for those who are out early every day and barely spend any time inside the room. "

"Nice clean hotel in a good location with easy access to the metro. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Very nice bathroom with bath and shower.The rooms are a good size for solo travellers however people with multiple suitcases may struggle for space. No wardrobe space provided in the room I stayed in. The room layout is the biggest negative as the sliding door can’t fully block the automatic motion sensor light in the corridor which is activated by people walking past the room outside. Also the air conditioning cannot be adjusted, therefore the room is quite warm. "

"The best, most thoughtful and detailed and beautiful hotel at this price point. I felt like I was staying in a serene mountain resort that also maintained the comfortable atmosphere as if it was my apartment in Hongdae. The bedroom and bathroom are tastefully and elegantly decorated. The water bottles, self amenities in the lobby, and the luggage storage were all well appreciated details. Overall an impressive stay and I wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else while in Seoul. Thank you for an amazing home base for our trip!!"

"This was mostly good but I hated that the TV turned on every time I put the key card in to turn on the power. That's a huge detractor in my experience. Everything else was decent. It was in a good location."

"I did not feel welcomed here by staff. My last night in Seoul, upon check in I was given room that smelled like cigarettes. I asked to change and the front desk said they are non smoking and made me feel like I was asking a lot to change rooms. I told them someone had smoked in there and you can smell it. They did give me a different room but it felt reluctant. As my last night in Seoul, I thought it would be nice to have a glass of wine and some dessert. I went to the second floor to the restaurant and was not greeted. There were two females and one male staff member there that just looked at me like what was I doing there. Then finally the male asked if I had a reservation. He said I could sit down but wasn’t friendly. I said I would just have a glass of wine and some dessert. He told me I could not sit down because I have to order food. I said dessert can be food and he said no. It felt very dismissive for someone who is a hotel guest. When I checked out in the morning, I wanted to go across the alley street to get coffee before I had to jump on the subway with all my luggage. I asked to leave my luggage and the front desk clerk was reluctant again. He asked me for how long like it was such a problem. Seriously ruining an opportunity to enjoy my last morning before heading to the airport. I stayed at the Ryse last week. They were so accommodating I regretted not spending the extra $50 to stay there my last night."
