"The overall aspect of the property was misleading, the property wasn't of a standard that I would expect from a Vrbo property or any rental property, the cleanliness was far from acceptable, massive cobwebs in a few rooms, stains on carpets, rugs that we really a bad trip hazards, the one at the top of the stairs which we moved, sofa bed not fit for purpose, stains on bedding, dishwasher didn't clean properly, no welcome pack, lights in the small bedroom wasn't working, mold and grime build up...

"Our standard double room was pretty small and the ensuite was small and definitely 'a bit tired'. Room cleaning (specifically the toilet pan) wasn't very good. The bar was fine and the bar food was good. Breakfast was unlimited, but wasn't the best we've had. The grilled tomatoes were under-cooked and the toast was completely unwarmed on one side (on each of our 3 days). The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel location, next to the elevated main road, isn't idyllic, but there are a couple of good pubs a short distance along the canal (out of town). However, the location is a great spot from which to explorer Chester on foot. The car park costs £12 per day but was vital."
