Beautifully curated by a local designer across three spacious levels, there is plenty of room for up to eight guests. Stay cosy in front of the wood fire in the lounge and enjoy home cooked meals in the dining area whilst you enjoy the spectacular outlook.
The Space: A luxurious home in a spectacular setting offering mesmerising, uninterrupted views across the Derwent River and furnished for maximum comfort and leisure. This exclusive residence is available for up to 8 guests looking for a memorable vacation experience.
The house is an award-winning design by local architect Maria Gigney, perched above the waters edge and featuring private access to the beach below. There are two outdoor decks to enjoy the spectacular views, one on the edge of the garden and the second half way down the foreshore stairs.
Set across three levels, the house faces a sunny northerly aspect and floor to ceiling glazing maximises the views in all directions.
The middle level enjoys open plan living, featuring a huge galley kitchen with a large walk-in pantry creating a functional, social space with ample room to cater for the group. Enjoy local produce and home-cooked meals at the large dining table or head outside onto the upper terrace.
The living space features cosy seating in front of cosy wood heater.
Downstairs is a fantastic rumpus room equipped with an eight ball table which can be converted into a ping pong table. Open the glass doors to access the lower terrace or take in the views from the quiet study nook. The lower level has a bedroom furnished with a queen bed. A bathroom and laundry area complete the space.
The main sleeping quarters are on the top level featuring three bedrooms. Two bedrooms are furnished with queen beds and one has two single beds.
The private master suite has a spectacular outlook and accommodates a walk in robe, expansive ensuite bathroom with double vanity, freestanding bath and double shower.
There is a separate bathroom on this level to service the other two bedrooms and internal access to the double garage.
We welcome you to enjoy this very special property, however draw your attention to the strict no party policy as the property is set within a quiet residential neighbourhood and short stay accommodation permit has been granted with this requirement enforced. Any guests who do not respect this policy will be asked to vacate the premises immediately.
Guest Access: Guests will have exclusive access to the property for the duration of your stay.
The Neighborhood: Lower Sandy Bay is a serene, waterfront suburb just 10 minutes from Hobart’s vibrant city center. With its picturesque views of the River Derwent, it offers a relaxing escape while keeping guests close to key attractions. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along Nutgrove and Long Beaches, enjoy local cafes, and wood fired pizzas.
The area is family-friendly, with nearby parks, playgrounds, and safe swimming spots, ideal for both couples and families. Its peaceful, tree-lined streets and welcoming community vibe make Lower Sandy Bay a perfect base for exploring Hobart and beyond.
Getting Around: We recommend you hire a car although you can also use taxi/uber or the public bus system which has a stop close by.
Other Things to Note: STRICTLY no parties permitted. Our permit does not allow parties and we respect our neighbours peace and privacy. Please do not book the property if you intend to host a party or create noise outdoors after 9pm. Only guests staying at the property are permitted to be there.
