  • This conveniently located heritage listed cottage is the perfect base for a stylish stay in Hobart. One of the original homes in Hobart City, the cottage was built by Edward Dumaresq, Surveyor General of van Diemen’s Land in the 1830’s. The owner has lovingly restored the home as well as adding both style and function. From its designer kitchen to the serene courtyard garden, this light-filled home is made for slow mornings, long lunches, and cosy evenings in. The home offers a dedicated parking space on the property. It’s situated in a quiet location, just a short walk from Woolworths.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas flow into a private courtyard deck surrounded by greenery – the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet morning coffee or dinner under the stars in summer.



    Inside, you’ll find every detail thoughtfully considered – from the sleek designer kitchen and integrated appliances to the statement bathroom with its rain shower and luxe brass fittings. The laundry is fully equipped for longer stays, and the ambient interiors make this space feel both inspiring and restorative.



    Please note, this is the personal residence of the owner, who graciously makes it available for guest use while away. We sincerely appreciate your respect and care during your stay.

    Getting Around:

    A car is handy if you’d like to explore further afield, but much of what you’ll need is within walking or cycling distance. Public transport options are nearby, offering convenient connections to the city and beyond. Rideshare services and bike hire are also widely available, making it easy to get around.



    Other things to note:

    - A $50 fee will be charged if guests fail to check out by the agreed time, with an additional charge for every 15 minutes thereafter.



    There are 5 outside cameras for the security of guests and the property itself. Only one of these points at the house itself (the camera beside the key lock and big glass sliding door). However, the angle towards that door is very narrow and so the camera only detects minimal movement from directly behind that sliding door only. Otherwise no cameras detect any movement from inside the property.

A lovely lovely place to stay and have all your yourself. Easy to walk from or catch a bus from just around the corner. Lots of little details that helped make the stay even more enjoyable. Does not feel like you are in the city, lovely and quiet and homely. Will be recommending.
