Overall old and lacking hotel

Posted 06-Jun-2017
The pros: - Location is good - Staff are excellent despite the poor hotel they have to work at. The cons: - Noise - Noise - Noise If you love noise, this is a 5star hotel, you will get an audible experience like no other. From the road noise, to the pedestrian lights that run every 30seconds 24/7 (not an exaggeration, they are on interval if pressed or not), add in the other rooms through the paper thin walls, clear noise and speech from the hallway through the door, air con noise from your unit on the balcony and your neighbours, old elevators with a loud clicking that comes through the walls, plumbing noise...and I think I'm out. Not single aspect of the room attempts to minimise this at all. Everything is old and thin, from walls to glass panes, there was almost no difference between a door closed or open. It's cheap, it's clean, the staff are nice and the rooms are large enough, beds good. If you can put up with the rest you'll be ok, otherwise run for the hills. Oh wifi is top notch, streams netflix no problems and no limits that I noticed.

Nice hotel quiet location in Hobart city.

Pros: King size bed, everything priced reasonably
Room service was good. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, market and waterfront. Able to walk to waterfront and take cruise on the Derwent. Loads of historical buildings to take in.

Room service

We ordered room service one night cause we were too tired to go out and the food was pretty bad. Apart from that, the hotel was good.

good proximity

Posted 15-May-2017
Quite noisy at night even though with limited traffic outside. Also dining costs on site quite expensive. However, close proximity to hospital, city centre and Salamanca was a bonus. Very clean and staff friendly.

Misleading room photos

Posted 03-May-2017
Pros: Comfortable bed was great
Cons: Quality of furniture, change photo to something not misleading on the Expedia website
Location: Good location, however would prefer to be a little closer to the wharf area.
We had booked the King Suite with lounge room, was more like two seperate rooms that had an interconnecting corridor, cheap vinyl lounge, VERY comfortable bed.
