Very old and outdated. Cigarette smoke everywhere, toilet was covered in poop, AC didn’t work work well, no hot water in the shower

Very friendly staff both at check in and security assistance in getting taxis for me. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast provided was OK with reasonable selection.

I often stay here, the hotel is in a good location and the staff is really helpful. Vin who is the night clerk has helped me several tines with directions, answers to questions, taxis, and other issues

Helpfully staff. Easy checkin and out. Breakfast is very simple and basic. Room was great. They upgraded me to a deluxe room without any extra charge. It is near the Japanese restaurants. I change to another hotel because I wanted to be closer to Ben Thanh end of District 1.

Simple rooms but good value for the money
It's a nice old hotel but definitely needs a facelift but with that being said definitely good value for the money all of the staff were definitely very helpful and friendly and breakfast was good

Okayish budget hotel - you get what you pay
Only good thing about this place is the cleanliness and the area (very central). Staff was surprisingly unhelpful (tried to make local phone calls and the phone in my room didn't work, they said they would send help but it never came and still wouldn't allow me to use their office phone) and unfriendly (when I left the hotel at 9pm staff looked down so they wouldn't have to say something). Rooms are very dark and there isn't even a proper desk to sit on. Certainly not good for business trips. If you have no expectations, then value for money is good.

Satisfactory stay for a working week. Smallish room with the usual amenities provided. It's just like all the other tourist hotels in the nearby streets.

Convenient and great location
The location is great and restaurants are easily accessible nearby. It takes about 10 minutes walk to the shopping area with all the big departmental stores and shopping malls.

電気ケトルが壊れてた。壁や天井が薄いのか、外の廊下をハイヒールのカツカツ歩く音や笑い声が響いたり、上の階のベッドが軋む音が大きく漏れて来たりした。 もっと上品で落ち着いた部屋に泊まりたければ他をお勧めします。安くてそれなりの部屋でいいのであれば、ここはお勧めです。

Room was just ok. They didn't seem to have a record of our Hotels.com booking. Pretty sure we didn't get the superior room we paid for (or if we did, the superior room is not very superior). Breakfast was decent, and the location was killer.

Simple, Clean, fantastic location
We used this hotel to freshen up before our flight home, hassle free check in, clean room air conditioning remains on without key, so great to come home after exploring in the heat. The shower was excellent with the ability to use to heads at the same time.

I regularly (3 or 4 times a year) stay at this hotel when visiting friends in Saigon. Deluxe Double rooms are great and on higher floors have a good view of the city. Anywhere in District 1 is walkable but if you want a taxi there is a Vinasun(reputable company) representative outside the hotel almost all the time. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby in Le Than Ton Street. I will be staying there again on my next trip.

The staff were very courteous and helpful during my stay at Sophia Hotel. On my first day at Ho Chi Minh City, I approached the reception for help on buying a SIM card for my phone to use in Vietnam, and one of their staff actually drove me on his motorbike to a phone shop to help me with the SIM card purchase!! I was amazed. Other than that, the staff always open the doors for guests whenever they see guests leaving or entering the hotel. The staff will also help you hail a VINASUN taxi, the more honest and reliable taxi company, if you happen to need to get somewhere. A big plus about this hotel is that they also help you book short excursions to tourist attractions outside the city. The staff were helpful in helping me book two short one-day tours: one for a Mekong River Tour to My Tho/Ben Tre and one to Cu Chi Tunnels/Cao Dai Temple. They also do bookings for a Ho Chi Minh City tour, but i feel that is unnecessarily since the hotel is in a central location and you can walk or take a short cab ride to all the city tourist attractions, such as the War Remnants Museum and the Independence Palace. Personally, i think it is good value for money if you leverage on the hotel to make those tour bookings to places a bit further outside the city (i.e. 1-3 hours away). As for the room itself, there is not much to say other than it was clean and comfortable, providing everything i needed (razor, cotton swabs, etc). It was also nice that they provide free breakfast with Pho!

Well positioned hotel, close to amenities
This is a lovely hotel that is close to many amenities and attractions. The staff are fabulous, very helpful, and courteous. The rooms are of a reasonable size and have everything you require. Our room had a large walk-in shower, which also had good water pressure. Rooms are cleaned every day and there is also a laundry service at a reasonable price.

After staying in the Chinese Quarter,we decided to move nearer the City Centre,This hotel is as described within walking to cathedral,Post office,Opera House etc. As for the hotel, I have mixed feelings,Receptionist helpful, cleaning staff not so,towels marked and frayed,rubbish under bed, stairwell not cleaned(not everybody likes to use lift).breakfast mediocre,although the portable Bain marie have burners,they were not lit, hence cold food at 08:00,Staff attitude not good,If you were looking at the hotel photos and you want a specific room, ie one with windows make sure you see the room first,ours was small, and cramped with a building wall,as a view.Have stayed in better hotels for the same price

Convenience location
Excellent hotel, friendly staffs all round, easy accessing to, such as, shopping centers, street shopping, eatery places and places of interest are all within walking distance, premium room that i stayed come with a jacuzzi bath tub too, not forgetting nice simple and tasty breakfast included. Keep a hotel address card in your pocket whenever you go, in case your are lost, just get a taxi to send you back to the hotel, taxi charges are inexpensive.
