He also had no issue conversing with me with my poor Japanese. We bought washing powder but he insisted we return it for a refund as he provided it and that is unusual. We had 3 rooms. One was liveable. One had blood stains on sheets and scratches on wall as if someone was murdered in room. The other was ok but smelled very bad so we had to have window open to tolerate room. It was very noisy with window open. Hotel needs a 100k makeover and would be totally A1.
