While that being said there are not many options on Miyajima Island. Some positives are the free breakfast in the morning which we were not expecting as well as the complementary foot bath outside (kind of fun after a day of walking). The location was about a 10 minute walk from the ferry across all major attractions. The hotel was extremely close to our morning hike up to Mt. Misen which was awesome. As always you get wonderful and friendly staff in Japan. The negatives are simply in the room, while spacious just felt very dated, unclean and uncomfortable. The bed was small for two and lumpy. No private shower or bathtub which is fine until you release the only place to clean yourself is the public onsen bath (not really ideal). I've been to many hotels with public bathrooms and showers however this was odd to me. The breakfast was good hitting and missing on some components. Overall it wasn't awful by any standards just not really close to some of our other stays.
