The Hillman Retreat House is a gem. The amenities are amazing. We had so much fun playing family floor hockey games in the gym, brewing 2 pots of coffee and the endless spaces the family could spread out and enjoy time together. The games and puzzles were fun and they had many options to keep kids entertained. We highly recommend this property as a getaway for families with all ages.

Excellent location for a large Friendsiving! Absolutely perfect spot for many families with young children. The pictures don't do it justice. So many amenities including toys for the kids, pickle ball rackets, puzzles and games. Highly recommend for a large group gathering.

The pictures don’t do this house justice! The house is so well stocked, clean, with many gathering spaces that fit the needs of us 20 adults. We could all sit at the same table for dinner and also go off and do our individual activities during the day. The field house is also gorgeous with a great sound system and well stocked with activity gear. I could not recommend this house enough.

Such a great time. Place was very clean, the rec center with pickleball was a blast. 5 out of 5 stars. Would absolutely stay again. Would love to try out the property in the summer as the location near the lake seems like it would have even more to offer!

Great large group space!

The house was great - used the space for a small, early spring off site work meeting. The kitchen and coffee bar had everything we needed, nice bedrooms and linens, and lots of comfortable break out spaces for relaxation and small group conversation. The field house could use a bit of additional renovation but amenities were as advertised. Wonderful dining table for a large group, great fire pit area, and a great host to work with! Instructions were clearly posted and made the stay easy. Thanks for a memorable few days!

Perfect Team Bonding Trip

The Hillman Retreat House was perfect for our team bonding trip this year. Plenty of room for all the players, coaches and chaperones. A nice big kitchen for making meals. Loved the large table so everyone could eat together. The clincher for our group was the many large spaces for doing activities. We will be back to this great property.

Family Christmas

The property turned out to be the perfect place for our Family Christmas. I appreciated the convenience of having enough beds for everyone. The dining room worked great for the family meals. It was perfect combination of group space and quiet alone time space and all the kids absolutely loved the Fieldhouse. It gave them a chance to burn off some energy. The host was very friendly and responded quickly to all our questions. Great place!

Great for groups

This location was perfect for a board of directors retreat! It was secluded enough that we could get away from our daily lives to focus on our work but there was still plenty to do in the area. The space was large and had several places for group gatherings and small areas for smaller groups of people to meet and work. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. You could tell that a lot of work had been put in to make this place updated and welcoming.

Amazing find!

The Hillman House was amazing place for our multigenerational family reunion. Lots of space to connect, and room for everyone to eat together at the extended size kitchen table. Large number of private bedrooms to accommodate all is very unusual to find and beds were very comfortable with quality linens. Had lots of fun in the indoor gym playing pickleball and other games. The paddleboards were great for on the lake and there was a nice sandy beach area for the little kiddos to play. Can't say enough about this place, even better than the pictures!

Family Reunion

We loved our reunion weekend. The house easily accomodated our extended family of 22 people. We played pickle ball, fished, played games, cooked a ton, had a craft night and generally just played together. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to cone back! If you aren’t an early riser, bring eye shades otherwise everything you could need was there.

Perfect for Our Family

We had 20 family members across three generations spend an early Christmas at the property. The number, variety, and spacing of the rooms were great for such a large and varied group. The kitchen was able to accommodate cooking all of our meals. The teenagers and parents loved the pool table, foosball table, sauna, and pickle ball court. We also enjoyed cross country skiing on the lake (1.5 miles). This was the perfect place for us to all get together for the first time since COVID. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Don’t tell anybody but…

We don’t want to give a glowing review because we don’t want to compete against others when we try to rent this property again. IT.WAS.FABULOUS! Our family (21 adults and 3 kiddos from Alaska to North Carolina, New Mexico to MN) LOVED this property. We played endless pickleball games, held a Pickleball tournament, used the paddle boards for jousting, held rousing foosball and billiards competitions, spent countless hours laughing and talking in the spacious kitchen (including a hymn sing), and other sitting areas. DON’T come to this place if you want to be bored. And don’t interfere with our plans to rent it again!

We organized this trip to meet up with friends that we don’t get to see on a regular basis. This home and property was the ideal destination for our trip! Plenty of bedrooms, a dining table that fit all 18 of us, plus more board games than we knew what to do with. Within hours of arriving, most, if not all of our friends were already hoping to book this location for our next reunion. We used the paddle boards out on the lake, the yoga room for some much needed slow morning stretching, and we used the indoor pickle ball court as a dance floor late into Saturday night. The layout and the accommodations of this property helped to foster a fun, relaxing, and unique experience.

Great spot for large gatherings!

My siblings and our children used this house for a long weekend. There was an incredible amount of space for us all to be able to spread out when we wanted. There were also large rooms for us to gather together. We enjoyed all being able to eat together, and we enjoyed all being able to use the craft room to play board games. There were plenty of activities inside (including the field house) for us to use when the weather wasn't great. When the weather was great, we enjoyed getting on the lake and using the included canoe and paddle board. Everything was clean and worked well. The house was also stocked well with all supplies we needed for cooking and entertainment. Lilly was great about communicating with us and answering any questions. I would highly recommend this property!
