The property is amazingly well supplied with everything you could need. It is close to the city centre, but also within easy reach of the beaches like Roker. "Incredible location - right next to the sea, round the corner from the train station, Sainsburys, and town centre. There's a playground opposite for kids of all ages. Reasonable price which includes either a continental or full English breakfast. Lovely friendly staff. Warm throughout, including the bedroom. Comfortable beds and duvets. Only check in is a bit stressful because they send you the details a few hours before you arrive but it was no problem in the end. I would stay here again."

Fantastic, authentic castle with such history and higgledy piggledy corridors. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with an anniversary card which was a nice touch. The staff were excellent. Easy to find from main roads. After driving for 4 hours through the rain I was pleased to arrive at my destination. The hotel appeared a bright, happy star on the rainy horizon. The reception area welcomed me with it's serene, peacefulness. Staff only too happy to come to my help late on a Sunday evening.
