You are minutes from Blue Ribbon fishing at Scofield Reservoir where you can also water ski, jet ski, wakeboard, paddleboard, canoe, kayak. This area also has great ATV and snowmobile trails and quick access to national forest properties. This cabin sits on 3/4 of an acre of green space where you can sit around the campfire, play outdoor games, and much more. Access to the cabin is available year-round. There are two private bedrooms and one spacious room that sleeps up to 10 people. He had written a book about the Winter Quarters mine disaster which is literally just out the back door of the cabin. As we ate breakfast , we could gaze out the sliding glass door and see the remnants of the Winter Quarters Company store, up the canyon. We were able to hike on the site of Winter Quarters Mine and Grandpa's book came alive to the grandchildren. It was a beautiful, peaceful day and coming back to the cabin, we were able to relax, and enjoy just being together. The kids all found their own little niches where they found quiet in the cabin and then we all came together for games and meals. The outdoor surroundings are stunning as you look up from the cabin into Winter Quarters Canyon. We enjoyed exploring the town of Scofield, walking on some of the trails, just down the road, and fishing on Scofield Reservoir. We had everything we needed and our host was very responsive to questions that arose during our stay. Cabin was spacious and had everything we needed in the house for cooking and amenities. Great space to play games outside for the kids and also to for the big kids to play games inside when weather wasn't cooperating. Host was great and responsive and easy to work with!
