Rivers Rest – Beautiful Riverfront Townhome in Downtown Helen

Finally, you have that time away, and you are looking to relax sitting on a porch listening to the river flow by and having a cup of coffee. Perhaps you are seeking the wonderful fresh smells of the mountains? Sit on the porch with friends and a glass of our local wine.

At River's Rest you have all the conveniences of home with plenty of living room seating, a gas log fireplace and a television on the mantel. The kitchen boasts of full size appliances, including a dishwasher. Choose the standard 12-cup drip or the Keurig one-cup coffee maker. There is a washer and dryer for convenience. The dining area has chairs for six guests with more seating on the porch at the pine table with benches. The rocking chairs, glider settee and tables are an Amish wood design. There is an electric grill, too!

The master bedroom features a king bed and a private bath with a walk-in shower and a jetted garden tub. The guest bedroom has a set of bunk beds with queen size mattresses on both top and bottom. The guest bathroom has a walk-in shower. With the sofa bed, this little gem will accommodate up to 8 people.

The upstairs porch has a hammock and two hanging egg swing chairs for relaxation.

A short walk puts you in the downtown area with many options for dining. The walk back to the property is a lovely path along the river. If you are planning all of these relaxing moments, then Rivers Rest is the place for you.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog. The pet fee that will be added to your reservation is $75 + tax. Only one dog weighing 70 lbs maximum is allowed.

• Access: The roads are paved all the way to the property. The driveway is not suitable for low profile vehicles.

Great Girls Weekend Property

We had a very relaxing girls weekend trip. The property was in a great location, and a short walk to downtown. The hot tub, the gas fireplace, and the large bedrooms made for a cozy place to relax. We will definitely be back.

Magical Stay

Beautiful Townhouse

Beautiful secluded hide away right on the river. It’s decorated so cute with all the bears motif. It’s very clean & has plenty of cozy furniture. Loved the automatic gas fireplace!!!

Late summer getaway

Amazing. This condo was excellent. Clean, fully equipped and the view from the balcony/porch divine. There are a few steps to maneuver so keep this in mind. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. We walked into Helen every day, sometimes twice a day.

Great family get away

Christmas trip with our two college aged “kids”. Plenty of room for everyone to sit and enjoy sports on the tv or play games at the kitchen table. Sound of the rushing river while sleeping was awesome! Unit was very clean and other than needing at least one additional dish towel and a dish rag or two everything was perfect. Short walk into Helen. Would highly recommended!

Kitchen had everything we needed. Going to sleep by the river was really nice. Only downside was the TV, it didn’t work at times and when it did it struggled to keep connected. It didn’t bother us because we don’t watch much tv anyway. Also remember this is a mountain home 2 flights of steps. If you have issues with stairs you might not like River retreat but we loved it!! Also Georgia Mountain Rentals was great to work with, friendly professional staff. We will be renting from them again for sure.

A Wonderful Stay

There were a few cobwebs in high corners, and a couple of door dents and very minor things that show it is a rental and not lived in full time but it was a great property. We'd stay here again. It is a bit too far to walk into downtown Helen for most people and the drive is very steep on a single lane road.

It was a great property conveniently located to waterfalls we wanted to visit and to town. We walked to town each day. I was grateful for my backup camera since the drive was directly across from the river. I would stay here again. I do want to note that the bathroom door in the room with the king bed cannot close because the bed is too close. It wasn’t a problem for us. I loved having the half bath on the main floor by the kitchen.

Cute, Spacious, and great views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time staying here. Living and kitchen area were very spacious. Bedrooms also had lots of rooms with walk in closets. Decor was very cute as well. Loved all the lighting options for inside and outside! The decks were our favorite spots. We spent most our time out there and watching the river and the people tubing. Location is close enough to walk to town if you don’t mind a walk (about 10 minutes to Main Street). We walk all over, so we did it one day. Warning of a Steep driveway- which we were not used to but it got easier. It could be difficult in winter. Also be aware of lots of stairs. If you have elderly or people with mobility issues this is not the cabin for you. Carrying heavy suitcases and coolers was less than ideal up two flights. We had one issue with the AC and they had it fixed right away. Only room for improvement would be updates in the bathroom, better cleaning of spiderwebs from the high vaulted ceilings upstairs (they were getting pretty big), and some spraying for bugs on the deck. Looked like carpenter bees and/or wasps were making nests.
