"We had a lovely stay at the Boathouse. Very quiet and secluded at the edge of the cove, we were able to launch our paddle boards right from the back deck. The stream and hiking trails that surround the house bring extra beauty and an opportunity for amazing sunsets. From this base we were able to dine at local restaurants, play a round of golf down the road, and visit beautiful Popham Beach. It’s a reasonably short ride to Bath, Brunswick, Freeport and even Boothbay to explore the region. Both Bob the owner and Callie the property manager were amazing communicators and provided ample suggestions for maximizing our stay. The home itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, though a quick message to Bob or Callie was an option if we needed anything else. They even left us a loaf of fresh baked bread and fresh flowers with a personal welcome note, a great touch. The deck off the main level is screened in, which was key to enjoy the evenings bug free. Highly recommend. "

"I was born and raised in Maine but now live in Florida. Took my husband and showed him where I’m from. Loved the house. Everything was perfect for us. Much needed break, couldn’t have been happier "

"It literally felt like I was invading someone’s room. There was a dirty paint bucket in the kitchen sink, a garbage bag with a lantern in it on the bed with other things that didn’t belong on it, then someone’s shoes in the middle of the room when I walked in. Oh and the so called wall in between the gallery and your private space? They’re SHUTTERS! You can slide a phone between the door cracks to record!!!!! The floor was filthy! There was sawdust all over the rug and near the bed. Then when I wanted to take a shower before bed there were only dirty, used towels hanging on the back of the door and a used Facecloth by the sink. There was nicely a new toothbrush.The bed was cozy.In the morning the coffee pods were fine but the sugar was old and clumped. I’ve never taken the time to go into this much detail to forewarn someone before booking but their listing isn’t transparent so someone should be! "

"We couldn’t be happier with our stay here. We are a family of 6, with 4 kids ages 16 through 10 and the cottage held us wonderfully well. It was the perfect size for our summer stay, very clean and well stocked. It had a peaceful, quiet feel and was a great place to hang out together on the days we didn’t feel like leaving the house. We used the walking trails outside the back door every morning and evening, amazing for getting the day started or for winding down. So much to do from this location, Morse Mountain trail to the beach is definitely worth it if 1.8 miles is in your range. We used the bikes provided every day as well as our own. Private Phippsburg residents beach just down the street and popham beach really close too which the kids loved. We went to Portland one day and up by Camden and Rockland another, the drives are part of the fun, stopping off along the way. The cottage is a half mile down a private driveway that passes through a golf course owned by the Sebasco resort hotel. We went down and were able to use the outdoor pool and the bowling alley despite not being guests. We also rented kayaks from a local company provided in the welcome handbook and kept them for 3 days at the private dock beside the cottage. Long story short this place was one of the best places we have stayed in maine and we come up here most years. The host Bob was a pleasure to liaise with, being around if needed anytime. Highly recommend for families like ours. We will be back!"
