From the door it's a short walk to The Towans — a three-mile sweep of sandy beach that's a favourite with surfers and walkers. Follow the South West Coast Path across rolling dunes, drop down to tidal pools for paddling and rockpooling, and pause at beach cafés for a well-earned coffee or ice cream between swims. At low tide you can roam for miles along the shoreline; when the tide pushes in, the dunes and cliffs offer sheltered spots to sit and take in the views.
