Exactly as promised
Great being close to the lake and a very nice neighborhood. Well described. AC worked well. Nice view of lake and great deck area. Enjoyed use of canoe and paddle boat. Wish beds were just a bit nicer but good time.

Relaxing vacation
Part of the week was with son and his family including 2 granddaughters, 5 and 7 years old. Second half of week was with female relatives. Plenty of room for the 5 or 6 of us. Loved the upper deck for meals, and lower deck to fish and check out the lake. we used the fire pit a couple of nights and were happy to have firewood and kindling available. Kitchen was well equiped. Nice to have charcoal grill to use. Very quiet area. great beds Plenty of parking. About 9 miles to get to Hastings. TuJax Tavern in Delton is a dive but the food is fantastic!! Kitchen opens at 4 pm. Be aware that tv reception is limited (only 1 local channel) and cell service is inconsistent- primarily depends on your service provider (t mobile worked well) EV charging is limited in Hastings. 2 level 2 chargers however, 1 at consumers energy service center was not working as it had wifi issues. Finally charged at Gun Lake Casino about 25 miles away. Definitely recommend staying at this cottage!!

Be fair now, there are 18 channels (only one local),71 VCR tapes,26 DVD's and a lake. Who needs TV unless it's raining? Thank you for the otherwise great review.

Girls Getaway
The property was as describef by others; beautiful drive in, secluded and surprisingly quiet for a holiday on a lake. It is quite the climb down to the house (for us old ladies!) but well worth it. We'll be adding this location to our future list of accommodations. Hosts were easy to deal with, very accomodating and we enjoyed talking with them.

Wonderful cabin on the lake
My daughter and I stayed at the cabin for a week. We had an awesome relaxing time. The place was just as described. Driving on Dogwood was like being up north. The views from the cabin and on the dock were spectacular. The cabin was very well stocked. We cooked for the entire time there and we were never in need of anything. If you get the chance to stay on Long Lake we definitely recommend this place.

The house was pretty nice, I do feel the lighting in the front and the back of the house could be much better. We also did not find out about the bathroom towels not being included until our welcome email. Unfortunately I didn’t pay enough attention to that and we ended up without bathroom towels. I do think that should be on the original listing so you were prepared. Otherwise the lake is beautiful and we had a very nice time

Nice cottage on a pretty lake
Cute cottage nestled on a pretty lake. Within 30 minutes to Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids. Beautiful car museum, aviation museum and lots of breweries in the area. Good communication with the owners, overall a very pleasant stay.

Best Kept Secret on Long Lake
My husband and I have 3 boys (ages 7,6, and 2). We have been looking for a family vacation spot where we could return year after year and we found it!! From the moment we walked in the door, it felt like home. The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed plus lots of extras!! We cooked our own meals the entire week we stayed and really appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Our boys stayed up late every night playing hide and seek, fishing, eating s'mores by the water, and catching/chasing fish through the sandy swim area around the dock. We loved taking the canoe and paddle boat over to the sand bar, which is directly in front of the cottage. The water was warm and the people on the lake were so friendly!! The best part was meeting our gracious hosts when they stopped by midweek to help me get rid of the trash we accumulated. Their brief visit made me love this place even more. When we went to leave our kids asked if we could PLEASE come back soon. We can't wait to plan a winter getaway to experience the awesome ice fishing and to return this very same week next year before school starts. Thank you for your hospitality!

We rented a boat and loved the deck, dock and lake! Even if we hadn't rented a pontoon the paddle boat and canoe were great to go to the sandbar. Fishing off the dock was great, we caught lots of little blue gills. Our family made a lot of great memories here! There were some issues that would seem easy to fix and would have greatly improved our stay The house is rustic and old which was fine and expected. They should not say that this place has bedding provided. Some beds didn't even have pillows, only foam stuffed in pillow cases. The beds with pillows the pillows were obviously over 20 years old. The bedding on the bunk beds were an old duvet cover split in two and just a thin sheet, not enough to keep someone warm. The kitchen knives were wooden and so old they were falling apart they were dangerous to use. Somethings were very clean, like the oven but the kitchen sink and freezer were filthy.

Our Family Vacation
This cabin on the lake was a great vacation for my grandchildren who have never experienced this living. The cabin is roomier than the pictures show. The owner was very prompt when needed. They are the nicest people you will ever meet. The back deck is peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely recommend and give them 5 stars.

A relaxing get away
Check in was easy! The house was exactly as described. Very peaceful and relaxing! The lake was busy on the weekend but I felt I was the only one there during the week! The back deck has beautiful views. It was great to just kick back and relax. I’m excited to stay again next summer!

I chose the 3 stars for the accuracy of the listing only because the listing does not do the property justice. The place is better than the listing! My family and I enjoyed this property very much! Only a couple of suggestions for the property (These are strictly my own needs) a newer coffee maker and a couple of more updated photos. Thank you for letting us stay!

Cozy home on peaceful Long Lake
House was clean and well stocked. 2 person canoe and water wheel provided. Nice dock and shoreline, good for swimming. Lake is around 300 acres and great for boating & fishing. House is around a 20 minute drive to Gull & Gun Lake. We really enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable lake house
This property was comfortable for 4 adults and a 9 month old. Enjoyed sunrises on the pier, campfire, cooking on the clean grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided), canoe and paddle boat rides and swimming at the sandbar. The two box fans were great for moving the air on the 3 90 degree plus days. Thankful we brought extension cords to help with fan placement. Would return!

What a great lake house get away
This was a perfect get away for our family as all other vacations we had planned were canceled due to COVID. We enjoyed using the canoe and paddleboat provided. We fished so much off the dock. The pike elluded us but caught a ton of bass, blue gills, and sunfish. There is an amazing car museum about 10 minutes away, Gilmore Car Museum. We found other close activities like a zoo (got to feed giraffes), a professional baseball game, and horseback riding). The owners of the property were extremely easy to get a hold of and anticipated all of our needs. With no wifi and limited cell phone service, we really spent some great quality time together. We brought a bunch of board games we also played (they also had some games and puzzles) The house itself and furniture are older and a little outdated but everything was clean, worked, and served it's purpose. Our overall experience was great!

Relaxing, quiet, private
Our family of four adults enjoyed our time away on Long Lake. We used the provided paddle boat and canoe to get out on the water to fish and relax. There are plenty of deck and Adirondack chairs on both decks. There are several movies, puzzles and games available. The property is fairly private as there are trees on one side and on the other side, the cabin is empty as the owner is renovating (but not during our stay). We also realized that even though it is wooded on one side and across the road, the house did not show any evidence of critters inside. Getting to the home felt like we were actually further north with hills and woods, but town is actually quite close for food runs (Walmart, Aldis, etc.). We only needed to contact Gary a couple of times, and he was responsive and pleasant. It was a good week.

Other than a couple unexpected hiccups when we arrived, the stay was nice. Loved the lake access, and being able to use the canoe and paddle boat! Beds were comfy for everyone, and the deck was nice.

The property was as represented in the description. The deck areas were wonderful spaces to relax in the mornings and evenings. Very peaceful property with nice trails to walk in the area. Teenagers were bummed there was no wifi, but it made for good family time and more conversations with parents :)

We enjoyed the cottage. Nice getaway. The paddleboat and canoe was so much fun. The Lake Michigan beach was close. Only thing I would suggest is to go to the little town of Hastings. We found it on the way home. Wish we would of went during our stay. Besides that very relaxing!!

Location was great!! Just were I wanted it for the weekend!!
The check in process was great... the check out was wonderful also. Reminded me of being home as a kid, it was a great experience for my daughter who had never been to Michigan before. We have a ranch in NM so this was a great experience for her!! Thank you so much ♥️

Kids had fun fishing, and relaxing, maybe a bit too relaxing for the adults. The kids went in the water a little bit, but there is no beach to speak of, and there are a lot of rocks and weeds. The cabin is older, and yes the basement, which is a main part of the house, does not work for 6' tall people... Bathroom, and main entrance to the deck and outdoors is through the basement. Beds aren't great either. I grew up going to cottages, so for me it was just fine...we are just spoiled and used to the everyday luxeries of living where we do.

Great little getaway
This lake house has an awesome view! The canoe is fun and my young adult children really enjoyed it. The location is nice and the town of Hastings has cute shops and good restaurants. There is no wifi and limited cell signal which was fine with me. The beds were not very comfortable but the place is very clean.Overall it was an awesome experience for a relaxed get away. Also, we rented a boat at Pine Lake and that was a blast too!

Lower level is carpeted, smells of mold, needs to have carpet torn out, and dehumidifier places in that level, ants everywhere, The stair rail (steps down to cottage) to very shaky and unsafe, furniture looks like it is from the Goodwill, Upper bathroom has carpet and smell of urine, needs to be torn out. However the view of the lake is gorgeous, very quiet and peaceful.

Great Cottage for Summer Vacation
Really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was clean, well stocked with all our necessities, and so much room it will accommodate any size family. Having morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake was so peaceful and relaxing. Right out from the cottage is a sand bar that is great for swimming and our kids enjoyed snorkeling there too. Everyone on the lake very friendly !! Would stay again !!! Thanks for the great family memories !!

They really tried to anticipate our needs from lighter fluid to bug spray. It was great!
The cottage looked just like the pictures they have on the site. It was beautiful! It was great being that close to the lake, we swam and fished everyday. I would highly recommend staying there! Gary (the owner) was great to work with and answered every question I had. We'd go back for sure.

Perfect relaxing get away
The cabin was perfect, lots of room! Very clean and had everything we needed. The owners put a lot of thought into covering all needs from family games to a potato peeler. Perfect place to escape and get some R&R. Lake is very clean and boat dock at cabin was perfect.

Very relaxing.
Everything was great except the mosquitos and bugs at night were very bad. Need to spray! Other than that we had a great time even with a 2 month old baby!

Overall great place
Great location, secluded and legit off the grid. Do not suggest 'lake level' for anyone over 6ft tall and wish the 'beach' was a little cleaner for kids swimming. Lake is wonderful. Good place overall and owners are very nice.

Sorry about the beach. The beach had a lot of fish beds and fish. I didn't want to disturb them. I had cleaned waist deep next door (the water was still cold). It has now been cleaned to the dock end(water is warm).

Great place by the lake!
Great cabin, by a beautiful lake. Check in was super easy, and there was more than enough room for the four of us. The deck was spacious and the place had a little fire pit down below. Would definitely stay on a return trip!

Fantastic cottage!
We had a family get together here recently. Beautiful, secluded cottage, steps from the lake. Boats are provided. We enjoyed grilling, camp fires and taking the boat. So peaceful, and a great getaway. Everyone loved this place, and we plan to come back some time.

The cottage had pretty much everything you would need. The deck outside was really nice and had a nice view of the lake. The owners were very accomadating to our needs. The only issue was there were 19 cement steps down to the cottage and took many trips up and down. But the stay was and A+

Perfect getaway!
The cottage was super adorable! The lake was beautiful! Everything we could have needed at the cottage was provided, towels, linens, games, cooking utensils! Any questions were answered right away from the owner. Close to shopping centers and the wedding venue we were going to but still peaceful and quite. Everything was so easy! Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone, whether it's a group of friends or a family!!!
