Adirondack/Oswegatchie Riverfront Cabin
Pristine Cabin Site on Oswegatchie River,
Relax and enjoy yourself sitting on the porches or the large deck overlooking the pristine 'Oswegatchie River'. The deck has been furnished with a dining table for four along with deep seated sofas and propane fire pit. Go swimming, rock hopping, and have a cool beverage while soaking in the many pools in the Oswegatchie River. The River is 150' wide and has a rocky bottom with area of gentle rapids, rock outcrops, and pools. Upstream 1/4 mile is an area where you can launch a canoe easily and have many miles of canoeing and kayaking on the River. Bring your boat and launch it at a state boat launch three miles away at the very scenic Lake Bonaparte. Enjoy a romantic evening at the outdoor fire pits or, on cooler nights, stoke up the glass-front wood stove. Enjoy a romantic walk through the woods or simply sit by the river’s edge. The cabin is absolutely charming, finished with all knotty pine inside, featuring a loft area, open living and kitchen area. Half round log staircase and steps lead you to the loft. Round log railings and post throughout cabin and porch areas add to the rustic charm. There is a double bed in the lower bedroom, one twin and one double bed in the loft. Guests provide their own linens, pillows and towels. Enjoy the large (3 Season)outdoor shower that overlooks the river. For those not as adventurous and during the winter months the cabin has a fully functioning traditional bathroom with shower. The cabin is equipped with a backup, auto start propane generator. Satellite TV, and WIFI are on site. A Ring camera and motion light is installed at the front of the cabin. The cabin site is located on a small point providing 180 degree view of the River. Majestic white pines along the river bank add to the beauty of this site. The cabin is accessed by a private, gated road shared by four other camp owners. Cabin site is very private. There is an easy walk approach to the river shoreline. Swimming areas with flat rock ledge bottom. The fire pit and landscaped area on the waterfront is appealing and convenient. Access to Snowmobile Trail Head Parking Route S-84 access is only 3 miles from the cabin. This is located at the Harrisville Rod and Gun Club on the Middle Branch Road. There is huge parking area for trailers, a gas pump for sleds, and the Harrisville Rod and Gun Club for drinks and food. These trails are located on the Northern part of the great Lewis County trail system and connects to all trails to the south and toward Brantingham, Stillwater and Old Forge if you want to travel far. The Long Pond Snowmobile Club maintains and grooms these northern trails. Enjoy dining and shopping at the home style restaurants and shops located in the Harrisville area better known as the 'Gateway to the Adirondacks'. There are large tracts of state land nearby for hiking and backwoods canoeing enthusiasts. An information packet is available to show the great hiking areas within 40 miles of cabin. Photos, maps and descriptions of the trails, locations of State Forests will be available. Also, ask us about some secret gems of hikes to nearby waterfalls. Canoeing and kayaking info packet will also be available. The cabin and site is very unique and one of a kind. The sound of the river is always present. The site really is a breathtaking gem and once you stay here, we know you'll want to come again.
The region is home to Ft. Drum, on occasion, in the distance sounds can be heard as our nation's best are practicing. In the event you cross paths with any of these fine men and women in our local stores or while refueling, give them a nod a word of thanks, they do appreciate it!
The "Adirondacks" The Adirondack Park covers some 6.1 million acres, a land area roughly the size of Vermont and greater than the National Parks of Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Glacier and Great Smoky Mountains combined. The Adirondack Park is a publicly protected area encompassing much of the northeastern portion of Upstate New York. It is the largest state protected area in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark. Now open all year round for four season enjoyment.
As the owners we would like to welcome previous guests and newcomers alike. Our dream has come true as owners of this pristine property and cabin. Our search took us from Maine to North Carolina over many years, we could not be more pleased to have found this fantastic location. The cabin is furnished with items made by local artisans and the Amish in Pennsylvania which enhances the experience and coziness. The Painter Family invites you to enjoy Dream Stream for as much time as your calendar will allow.

A true cabin in the heart of the Adirondacks! Tucked away off of the main road, peaceful, with only the sound of birds and the river make it very relaxing. Can’t wait to come back!
Very peaceful and private with easy access to the cabin. Had split wood on deck and back up on site. The owners are super nice. The only down side, we might have missed was we needed to bring our own bed sheets. Other than that everything was amazing!
Beautiful location on river and nice outdoor seating. Cute cabin inside wth comfortable seating and excellent wifi and tv streaming services. Small bath, but looks like they are adding on and fixing that. Loft beds are not comfortable.
This is the perfect escape. With the beautiful view, sounds of the river and a crackling fire it makes for a wonderful place to recharge. It is a, mostly, private getaway that everyone should enjoy. If you have a hard time sitting you can also enjoy miles of nearby hiking. We walked into 5 amazing waterfalls during the day and ended our evenings enjoying the beautiful cabin.
Very clean! Cozy and warm for our winter stay. A beautiful Adirondack cabin to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding land and amazing river . Owner was easy to contact with any questions we might have had. We hope to go back again.
While only at this cabin for 2 nights, we had a glorious time playing in the water, listening to the river, and skywatching over a campfire! The attention to detail in the decor, supplies, and directions was perfect! The outdoor decks were laid out in a manner to provide fantastic views of the river and offer shade if needed. Great time!- only piece of advice, if you are coming when it's hot outside, bring a fan or two.
The directions to enter the property were clear and easy to follow, proximity to the river was unmatched, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. Wood was provided, and we enjoyed the woodstove and the fire pit throughout the weekend! Would return again!
My husband and I LOVED this gorgeous cabin! We had full intentions of going to our favorite ADK places but as soon as we got there, we knew we didn’t want to leave. We were so relaxed and enjoyed every minute! We cannot wait to book again! We highly recommend this cabin directly on the river
Very nice, secluded property off the beaten path right on the river. I had a relaxing and peaceful weekend. Recommend for a time away solo or with friends and family. 4 season property.
What a great location on the river for a relaxing get away. The place was clean and everything worked well. The river was so peaceful and made for beautiful pictures. Everything went well, checkin and checkout all went smoothly. We seen a few deer and turkeys from the cabin so the wildlife was neat to see. Overall a great and easy stay and good location.
We loved our time nestled in the woods next to the roaring river. Our 2nd time at the cabin did not disappoint. Communication with the owner was pleasant and easy.
We absolutely loved it. It is very beautiful and peaceful. I'm pretty sure we have found a place that we will be revisiting.Thank you for opening your home and letting us stay.
We loved this house and its location - right on a joyful river! It was peaceful and exactly the type of 2 night stay we were looking for. We mainly hung out on the large and beautiful deck and listened to the water run by. Doug was responsive on several occasions. Thank you for a lovely stay!
From the moment we arrived and heard the river rushing below, it was an absolutely magical stay! Such a perfectly cozy cabin in a beautiful location with many comfortable places to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds on your vacation. It truly lives up to the name "Dream Stream"!
Beautiful property relaxing time, everything worked well! Outdoor shower nice, atmosphere perfect. Close to town and a few restaurants. Windows could have been cleaner and a blower would have been nice to blow off the decks.
The property is awesome. It's to bad the propane fireplace didn't work do to previous renter, fortunately there was a great fire ring with plenty of wood.
