"Historic old building in a beautiful setting. Quirky but relaxing and the outdoor spa is an amazing experience. Clean comfortable room. No refrigerator though. I was in a newer extension towards the rear of the hotel and the walls were a bit thin. I could hear the extractor fans from the bathrooms around me. But zero traffic noise."

"This was my second stay at this beautiful hotel, which has lots of charm. The location is so peaceful, and listening to the dawn chorus in the morning, after a great sleep in a very comfy bed, was a pleasure. Plenty of tea/coffee etc. in the room, although no fridge. The spa was spotlessly clean and the facilities really good for a quick session in the evening - a nice extra treat to enjoy the stay. I do have quite a critical eye though, and there are things that could be a little better. The room was lovely but the paintwork was knocked in places and needed touching up, and marks on the wall where a previous guest must have spilled a drink needed cleaning. The shower leaked despite the glass door. There were some damp patches in the bathroom. There’s just a little feeling the hotel isn’t as loved/cared for as it could be, and a little TLC would elevate the experience. Not much effort would make it excellent, instead of good. All that said, for the price I paid it’s really worth it for a quiet getaway, and I will stay again! "

"Beautiful Location, relaxed atmosphere. Good sized room, if a little overpriced. Hotel was clean, toilets well serviced. Walls a little thin (or I had noisy neighbours :-) ) Reception Staff super helpful and friendly. Bar Staff and Bar Waitress faultless in helpfulness - Bar food (WH LOADED BURGER) arrived quickly and piping hot. Astons Breakfast (Sunday Morning) was fabulous, good selection. Hostess, waiters and waitresses - great job. Hotel Pool, Sauna and Steam, clean and perfect - changing rooms were OK. Jacuzzi was full (first come, first served) so did not use. Didn't use Day Spa or any treatments."

"Within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants so perfect location with free parking. We stayed in a very comfortable suite lots of space to relax and lovely view over the garden. Very quiet at night and a good selection of food for breakfast hot and cold. Will definitely stay again. "
