The hotel is clearly newly opened so of course will have teething issues that I hope they sort out. The building, reception and bar are all lovely. My room was on a basement floor and did not smell good , the WiFi was intermittent so the tv did not work as it had no aerial, the shower leaked on to the floor and it doesn’t dry out so the room did unfortunately smell of damp. There’s no hairdryer, no iron, no cups or glasses in the room, no hooks to hang anything and only two coat hangers. My room wasn’t finished well, not decorated well and still had the builders tape all over the windows, just felt unfinished and a little dirty. The bed was comfy however, it’s an ok place to stay if you need just a bed for the night but I certainly wouldn’t think of it as a great place to stay yet. Hopefully they can improve. Overall ok if you just need a bed. Oh , also the address on the hotels.com page isn’t correct and took me to a housing estate so took forever to find. be aware correct address is 10 bridge street.

I stayed here for one night in a double room. This hotel is nice but clearly has some teething issues as a relatively new establishment. The room: - The room is nice, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. However, there is an alcove with a wardrobe that has no lighting, so at night you cannot see into the wardrobe at all. There is one overhead light and some lamps near the bed. Only one side of the bed has outlets, not very useful for a couple. Lots of empty wall space but no mirrors. There was a kettle and some tea/coffee but no mugs. Staff: - Staff are kind and polite. However, there was never anyone staying at the reception desk even at peak times. When you ring the bell someone came quite quickly but they seemed very rushed of their feet. The restaurant spans over several rooms and outside but there were only a few wait staff who were also dealing with the reception of guests. So sometimes you had to wait a bit. When we were splitting the bill, the waitress got very confused what we wanted to do and it took a few attempts to get the card machine right. In addition, when resting in our room both at 6pm and 9am the day after a handyman came and disturbed us. Restaurant: - We ate breakfast and dinner. The food was very good and came quickly. The menu is a range of classic dishes and Sri Lankan. The pancakes at breakfast were nice... although it was a bit cheeky to say the pancakes come with chantilly cream and then serve it with canned whipped cream.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE PRETTY PHOTOS OF THE FRONT OF THE PROPERTY Worst stay we’ve ever had. We checked in and went straight out, after getting back at 1am the hotel was locked and nobody was around to let us in, we searched and shouted for 10 minutes by going round the back of the hotel (I cut my leg on a thorn bush trying to find a way in) and then finally somebody appeared just as we were about to decide we would sleep out in the car park. The room itself was disgusting as the tv didn’t work, neither did any of the electrics and the bedside lamp was unplugged as there wasn’t even a socket for the lamp to be plugged into. Arguably the worst of all is the the Hotel Manager, Vincenzo had promised a refund on the room after realising all of the failures of our 1 night stay only to tell us we had to go through Expedia and to then deny all claims once Expedia got in touch with him. This really was an awful decision for us to stay here and I cannot explain how grotty the rooms were, although the outside of the front does look like nice, seriously, find somewhere else!!!
