Lovely setting very nice hotel for the money

The hotel was lovely, rooms appear to be being renovated but even those not quite done yet were clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite.

The Belfry trades heavily on its famous name, but the experience doesn’t justify the premium price. My room was clean but very dated, with no air conditioning and only a noisy fan that made sleeping difficult even before the real issue started. The biggest disappointment was the late-night noise. Guests drinking on the terraces created a constant level of shouting and disturbance that was completely at odds with what you’d expect from a luxury golf resort. I booked expecting a peaceful night overlooking one of Britain’s most famous golf courses. Instead, it felt like staying above a busy pub on a Saturday night. Food was average, drinks expensive, and the service lacked the warmth you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. There is undoubtedly a great hotel hidden somewhere inside The Belfry, but it currently feels as though its reputation is doing far more work than its hospitality. Quick check-in, helpful and friendly staff, clean and modern rooms (bed v comfortable, HDTV). Breakfast and coffee exceeded expectations too. Better than the places on Broad Street!

Only stayed one night. Room was comfortable and clean. We had a drink in the bar which had a nice seating area. No complaints. Good value for money.
