"I can't say enough about this beautiful home surrounded by nature. We were in Nathrop for a quick four days of jeeping, shopping and eating. Everything was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked, probably the best I have experienced in years. We bumped into a bit of rain; otherwise, we would have spent every evening on the decks. Great water pressure, comfy couches for relaxing, and the best location if you are hopping between Salida and BV. It's worth every penny. Truly a luxury home that we treasured!"

"Fantastic views of chalk mountain. Wonderful pool and jacuzzi jets. Upstairs low small toilets were a challenge for tall people with knee problems. Great kitchen and living room. Hot water only showers almost burnt me!"

Chalk Creek River House

"This place is so spacious and gorgeous. Very quiet and peaceful, for the most part. We could hear Chalk Creek babbling nearby and saw deer and lil' chipmunks every day. The neighbors played loud music on Sun. night (before Mon./Labor Day), but they turned everything down by 10pm. The propane for the grill never got very hot, so we ended up having to pivot and bake our pork chops and corn on the cob. There's an air hockey table in the basement play room that doesn't work. BOO! (frayed electrical cable) I was looking forward to beating everyone in my family. There's a wii system! So fun ... but only 1 controller worked, so we had to take turns on a bunch of 1-player games. Lots of old VHS tapes and DVDs. HA! We loved the sun room and deck for morning coffee, reading, chess etc. My son liked the privacy of the loft and the legos, but we could never get the lights to turn on, so after dark he chose one of the other bedrooms to hang out. We had spa treatments at Mt. Princeton and enjoyed the Hot Springs so we loved being close to that location. Spent a late afternoon/early evening in Salida and that was awesome too. We loved seeing the art in the cabin out in galleries in Salida! Very cool to represent local artists! Thanks for a great weekend! Would stay again!"

"Everything about this B&B is awesome! Hosts are kind, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is extraordinary and the room we had was perfect. Beautiful views of the mountains and a cozy balcony to enjoy snacks and wine on after dinner. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing comfortable getaway."

"Very peaceful cabin! We were pulling our enclosed trailer and had plenty of room to park the trailer and the truck. We saw mule deer every morning on the property! We were very pleased with the accommodations. Beds were comfy and it was a roomy house."

"Very big house with lots of spaces for our family of 10. It was nice to have bedrooms on all levels. Beds were comfortable. Chris, the manager was responsive and quick to respond to our needs. Beautiful location with a fabulous fire circle right beside the beautiful Chalk Creek. Thank you."
