The house is an elegant and modern remodeled home. The stunning interior is equipped with anything you need to make your stay in Hanalei perfect. No expense has been spared to make this the vacation destination of your dreams. The living area focuses south, with floor to ceiling windows featuring the most beautiful views of our beloved Hanalei Mountains and waterfalls - not a common sight in many of the homes in Hanalei. But the sun does go down in Hanalei and there's a massive flat screen TV for game day. The kitchen is open to the living and dining space, so the family can interact freely. The kitchen is well equipped for the gourmet cook. And there’s a dishwasher for the workers. Two of the bedrooms have king beds, the third bedroom has two twins. The two master bedrooms and the main upstairs living area have AC. The lanai is over-sized, with dining and seating options, a perfect spot to enjoy the view, using the high-speed wireless Internet service to stay in touch with the outside world. There's a huge outdoor shower, with hot and cold water. Gas BBQ. The amenities also include top of the line kitchen appliances - gas cook top, stacked wall oven and microwave, side by side refrigerator with filtered water in the door, large capacity Washer and Dryer. The first floor offers an expansive media room / den, with a kitchenette. Hale Ola Kai is located barely a block from Hanalei Bay, frequently voted one of the best beaches in the country. It’s a gentle lagoon dotted with sailboats all summer, and boasts world-class surf in the winter. The picturesque little town of Hanalei is about a half mile from the house – within easy walking distance. Hanalei town has delicious restaurants, lovely shops, and a local grocery store for your convenience. Bi-weekly local farmer’s markets are within less than a mile for fresh produce and local products. We loved our north shore time in such an ideal location. We were able to walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Our visit was in February, we did not find the non air conditioned room too warm. We found this room actually very comfortable. The beach wagon / backpack cooler / beach toys were a nice perk. This enhanced beach time for our children and reduced the items we had to haul in our suitcases or rent on island. I appreciate staying in a home that provides enough toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags, laundry detergent and dish soap for a stay. It’s one less thing to coordinate - makes it more of a vacation. We loved the outside shower after our beach days. It helped us to avoid issues with sand in the home. Lovely home. Will be back! Wonderful house. Three bedrooms were comfortable. We had four people, but could have easily accommodated a couple of more. The downstairs has a sectional sofa and big tv, but we hardly went down there. Internet is very fast, which is appreciated. There is an Xbox on the 70” tv upstairs, which our kids enjoyed. As no surprise on Kauai, the chickens are loud at night! The house next door is also rental and they were loud a couple of nights. There is a nice assortment of beach gear (wagons, chairs, towels, body boards, light snorkeling gear). One thing that would be a big improvement woukd be some bikes to ride downtown. At least two would be awesome. First of all, the location was amazing - literally around the corner and across the street from the beach park at Hanalei Bay. It was easy access directly to the beach. The home is in a very quiet and peaceful culdesac. We loved using the surf boards, SUP, boogie boards, chairs and miscellaneous beach equipment. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed to fix our meals at home and eat outside on the deck, which had incredible views all around. The rooms were comfortable and having 3 bathrooms was great. The one room with the 2 twin beds wasn't air conditioned, so we had to make sure we turned on all the fans and opened windows to get a breeze, otherwise it was uncomfortable for a bit. We didn't even use the downstairs family room or office and kitchenette, but it would be great if we had the need to stay inside. I also really loved the fact that there was enough seating indoors for our whole family to relax at the end of the day - there are 3 large couches in the upstairs family room. I really loved the fact that I felt like I was walking into a home that had everything I needed for my vacation - from garbage bags, laundry soap, bathroom supplies, extra towels and linens, a fully stocked kitchen, cleaning supplies, beach toys, etc. It made it so much easier to relax as well as clean up after ourselves. The house has lots of space for 6 people - two air conditioned bedrooms with king beds, one un-air conditioned bedroom with twin beds, and a very large un-air conditioned living/dining/kitchen room. The downstairs also has a huge un-airconditioned living room that we barely used. Both living room spaces have large flat screen tv's. The drive-through under the house has washer/dryer and all the beach gear. We spent a lot of time on the front deck, and had most of our meals there to enjoy the summer breezes in the morning and evening. It was easy to find the key to enter the home from the large, covered lanai. The interior was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, including a coffee pot, crockpot, rice maker, NutriBullet blender, toaster, tons of pots & pans, a variety of spices, and more! The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The home had a clothing washer & dryer, propane grill, and a private outdoor shower in the carport area. There was a beach wagon, umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, surf boards (we didn’t use) and a paddle board. Good signage posted so we knew what was expected upon checkout. The home is a 2min walk to having sand in the toes or a <10min walk to shops and restaurants. Amazing location!! The furniture was a bit worn in, but still comfortable. We’d suggest better fitting sheets for the queen sized bed, more hooks indoors and out, for towels and swim wear to hang, and maybe a shoe rack on the lanai help keep it more tidy, but no complaints overall! It’s a fantastic home with incredible views of the Hanalei mountains. There’s even a sneak peek of the ocean from the lanai! The main living room and 2/3 bedrooms have AC. The bridge closed on the morning we were to leave due to flooding from heavy rains, and Halley contacted us to assure us that we could stay if we could not get out. Our older son and his family joined us for the first part of our stay and our other son and his family came for the last seven days. The home is very comfortable. The amenities were perfect for our needs.The home was clean and well-maintained and the Na Pali Properties staff was very helpful. Morning coffee on the deck with the Mountain View was our happy place. The furnishings in this home are beautiful. Lots of Hawaiian charm. The two king beds (suites) are very comfortable. The twin beds are not quite as comfortable for adults but perfect for kids. The beds are not the same height and weren't ideal for the couple who got that room since they couldn't be pushed together. The AC in the bedrooms were a lifesaver and one of the reasons we picked this house. There is not AC in the main living area. We had planned to do a lot of cooking but it was too hot to turn on the oven. More fans or shade from the afternoon sun for this area would be helpful. We were there in August so it may only be an issue during the hottest month. The other amenities we loved were the large TV's, 4 beach chairs (could have used 2 more since the house holds 6 people), beach carts, beach toys and towels. This is truly a magnificent home to rent and the Na Pali management team were very good and helpful. Hope to return someday. ##### Angie H.
