Cozy place for a good price.
We really liked this hotel. It's not far from downtown, but doesn't have a downtown price tag. Breakfast can be purchased separately. They have an arrangement with a parking garage where you can park your car, but it's quite expensive. We paid at a parking meter (with a credit card) to park in the street next to the hotel, for maybe 1/3 the cost.The furniture is a little dated, but very functional. It's not the Ritz, but it's just right for the price. We had a great view of the Tivoli Gardens amusement park from our window.

I love the overhead flat shower head which falls a plenty of hot water like raining. There were many croissant/coffee stops close-by. Wifi speed is ok as long as no huge data transaction is involved.

Great hotel handy for Altona
This hotel was in a perfect location for us as we were in Hamburg for a gig and it was close to the venue and to the station. On arrival we were greeted and pleased to be upgraded. Our room was large and was on the front of the hotel and although the view was nothing special as it overlooked Altona Nord station, it was large, clean, well presented and there was no issue of outside noise Beds were comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were more than ample. If we had one small issue it would be that the room lighting was quite subdued and the room was not that bright. We went down for breakfast about 30 minutes before it was due to finish and although it wasn't included in our room rate we decided to pay and eat in the hotel as we were on a tight schedule and didn't want to spend time looking around the locale for something else. Although it was quite expensive at €12 per person there was a really good selection of fruits, pastries and an extensive continental selection and we were able to replenish as often as we wanted. If you were looking for a hotell to explore central Hamburg then this may be a bit far out but if you were visiting the Altona part of the city then I would certainly recommend this hotel

This is a three star near the Hamburg, Altona railway. It was convenient for both the metro and busses. The room was comfortable, clean, and small. It was made up for two people but there was room gor no more than one. Good use was made of space. The staff had a lot of prepared info on transport, restaurants etc. Well done. I have marked this hotel up because they took a simple place and made it work well.

Stopover near Station.
Decent enough room though a little dated. Massive television and room had safe and coffee facilities. Bed was reasonable though the room was a little chilly until heat was turned up and worked through. Clean, tidy and perfectly adequate. WiFi worked eventually but slow.

Nice Hotel ideal fro Train Station
Was a very nice hotel ideally placed for the train station. My only complaint was the single bed could have been a bit longer, but the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. New towels were placed every day of my stay despite me leaving them on the towel rail to signify they did not need changing. I used the hotel for its convenience to the main line station or the ICE train to Hannover and you could hardly get a closer hotel. It is well placed for the local attractions and shops and is only a few minutes away from the central station on the underground.

Convenient location, close to the S-bahn train station, which really connects you to everything else. Service is exceptional: in addition being polite and helpful, they surprised me when I declined room service two days in a row and they hung a bag of fresh towels (in a bag) on my door handle.

A very good place to stay. Within a minute walk of one of Hamburg's main public transportation hubs, you'll get anywhere quickly. Lots of food available in the area, good shopping. The hotel staff was great, the room seemed recently refurbished and was perfectly clean. It was quiet. The bathroom has no tub, but a big shower cubicle easily fitting two people. Storage space was a bit of an issue. Because the room is split into a bedroom and a small office, there was hardly any space to have an open suitcase on the floor. The cupboard had only two shelves, one of which was out of reach even for a tall person. I ended up stacking my clothes on the floor in front of the cupboard. There is a fridge and a safe in the room, and a kettle with lots of different kinds of tea bags and instant coffee.

Room was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Only issue was the proximity to the station (literally 20 meters across the road!) this made it a noisy so if possible ask for a room that does not face the station.

Stayed in the Best Western since we were visiting family who live in Altona (Hamburg). Location for that was perfect, was able to walk everywhere for family events. Hotel staff was great. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot rate that. Hotel is walking distance from Altona train station, which is great. Room was small, but perfectly OK for our needs. Bathroom was HUGE and totally clean. Loved that. Would certainly stay there again

Pretty standard cheapo. If you have a car the parking price is reasonable . However, the traffic around the hotel/rail station is pretty miserable during rush hour. Being near BHF Altona is good and bad - if you get a room facing the street it can be noisy but the s-bahn connections and the commercial conveniences are good. Ottensen (just on the other side of the station) is a great little Fussgängerzone. Walls are thin and space is at a premium. Breakfast not included and in an adjacent building.

Overall, the hotel was really good. Only bad point was when I asked at reception where the bar was, they said there was no bar..! The hotel seemed to be shared with the hotel next door, so maybe this needs to be cleared up a little. Otherwise, all good..!

It was unseasonably warm in Hamburg and this hotel, although very beautiful, clean and modern has NO Air conditioning. We had to ask for a fan and that helped a bit but we will not return because of the air issues.

This review is based on a booking and pre-payment for a double, non-smoking room but - on arrival - being put in a single, smoking room. The smoking room, unsurprisingly, had the most disgusting stench, with yellowing walls practically dripping in nicotine. Even at check-in the receptionist had confirmed that it was a non-smoking room and, having given me directions to the room, would have known perfectly well it was, in fact, a smoking room. For this act of dishonesty alone, the hotel hardly deserves more than the minimum rating. Then, after a vociferous complaint from me and a denial from the receptionist that the hotel was under any obligation to provide a non-smoking room if requested (this was for a five-night stay), a non-smoking room miraculously was found. This was clean enough, though extremely small (c 3m x 2m) for a double room with a tiny wardrobe but no drawers to store clothes and with a very badly tuned TV. Overall, shockingly poor value.

Smoking room when non-smoking was requested
I would have great things to say about the hotel if they hadn't given me a smoking room when I had requested a non-smoking room. It doesn't matter if it is the biggest or nicest. Non-smoking is ALWAYS the number one priority for a non-smoker. I didn't request a change as I had 5 heavy bags haul around, so I can't comment on any possible flexibility on changing it. For people with disabilities, this is not the hotel for you. Steps up to main counter and many rooms that are not accessible except for by steps. For me, that was fine (except for my abnormal number of bags. It also reduced foot traffic by the room I believe. I would definitely stay there again, but I would confirm w/ the front desk before arriving that they had a non-smoking room for me (as requested).

Great hotel for business travelers.
Attention business travelers, this hotel is a gem. The room is small but well designed. It has a small desk, a place for the suitcase, a clothing cabinet, safe, minibar, teakettle, and a trouser press that gets the creases back in. The bathroom is well done, nothing is missing. Parking spaces are in the backyard. I did not see all the hallways in the hotel. But I dare to assume that all of them are as nice as the one on my floor. The doors are finished with a wood veneer that is coated with a layer of shiny polyeurethane. It looks gorgeous. The TV is mounted on the wall at the foot end of the bed. The light can be switched off while actually being in bed. Free WiFi is included and it works flawlessly. The breakfast buffet is very good. There is an elevator too. The only thing I wish I had in the room are two more power outlets located directly on or at the desk, one for the laptop and one for a phone to charge. There are wall outlets in the room but when you want to charge your phone, you have to put it on the floor. When you plug in your laptop, the cable becomes a trip hazard. So please, hotel management, add two power outlets to the desk. Doesn't cost much but makes a whole lot of sense.
