By check in the desk lady announced to us, with a great apology, that the 4.5-star Arcotel Rubin was totally overbooked and hence she'd send us over to 3-star hotel suite. I wouldn't accept her offer which made her respond that by my refusal I was welcome to find another accommodation in town at my own expense.
We had driven 11 hours from Denmark including over a 3-hour traffic jam on highway 7 on account of a horrible accident so I was forced to accept her degrading.
To cut the story short it was not only a rather disappointing but also a humiliating experience for the desk lady offered me no compensation at all.
I had stayed in the Arcotel before and enjoyed their standards but this miserable affair would make me wanna warn my fellow travellers against this hotel.
I hope Hotels.com will follow up on this incident professionally.
