It resides close to Point Pleasant Park, the area is tree laden and gorgeous. While I was there, the cafeteria was open, along with a coffee shop with breakfast options, and a convenience store, among other options. I especially loved the staff working at the main desk 24/7\. So lovely and kind. One more note, everything was so very clean. The rooms are basic and a bit gloomy but the bed was very comfortable and everything was pretty clean. Overall, if you don’t mind seeing bunch of hair on the floor, place is pretty clean. I recommend getting indoor shoes. Staff is really helpful and so nice. You have to walk pretty much everywhere but it’s really close to downtown(15-20mins). There were fans due to the heat wave, and the area was convenient to walk to downtown - probably about 25 minutes. The beds were comfortable and the view took in the Halifax harbour. You also got a birds eye view of the athletics field and we were treated to several mens league soccer games. Kind of a cool element. The shared bathroom was clean and there was a separate single shower room. There were few people in our pod but there was never a wait for the facilities. The only negative points were: One of the elevators opened reluctantly and we learned to avoid it in case we got trapped; and the hallway to our pod of rooms had the feel of a prison - low security prison to be sure, but there was a vibe. That said the whoe experience was quite nice. There's laundry facilities readily available on another floor. Parking is right outside the building. It was good to have my own space. The shower and bathroom were both good. The room was very hot however. There was a small fan, but it did little to combat the heat. The staff were efficient, but didn't interact with me much. Also, this isn't a negative for the accommodation but I would have preferred if there were more people around to chat to.
