The air conditioning in my room was broken and the staff were good and changed my room. They didn't change the number and so the private bath I booked caused confusion and mis communication and ended up with me missing out. The front desk manager did apologise to me personally.

The property is central in the Yumoto area, very close to the station, with a convenient elevator at the base of the cliff and end of the bridge leading from the station. The facilities are expansive and well adorned. The problem came with communication - I left something in the room and, after I checked out, I both phoned and emailed them but did not get any response. I also asked Expedia to help me follow up with the hotel but got no response from it either. It really lowered my impression of the hotel. In comparison, the hotel Hakone Airu were very responsive.

There are the best onsen at Hakone Yumoto!! Low temperature sauna is my favorite. The main onsen tub has the gentle bubbles and also Jet bus. It’s not a common. Highly recommend.

The hotel is very close to Hakone-Yumoto station. The room is very clean and was very nice. There were varieties of good food served for breakfast. Definitely worth staying at this hotel.

There is an indoor and outdoor hot spring that is kept in good condition. There are not many good food options surrounding the hotel. The wifi was very spotty and kept on disconnecting and refusing to connect.

Front desk was pleasant. Japanese styled room was beautiful, clean and spacious. Previously reserved a dinner reservation for a sukiyaki and a kaiseki course. It was planned that my friend doesn’t eat seafood so we reserved different meals for dinner. Had no idea why we were both given kaiseki menu, when asked when we could change her menu, they said no - quite harshly at that. I’m quite questioned why they didn’t get the reservation details properly. Ended up having to eat the seafood. This is my only disappointment.

The hotel was walking distance from the Hakone-Yumoto station, across a small walking bridge. The hotel is also accessible via an external elevator which was helpful with lots of luggage. The hotel itself is a small walk away from the main road in town, close to shops, restaurants, and the shuttle bus to the close onsen spring nearby. The room itself was quite sizeable by Japanese standards, and although the decore was a bit dated, was quite comfortable.

James Bond Hotel
Great location, right next to the train station and town. Hotel fully functional but a little dated, like something from a 1970’s Bond film. No non Japanese TV stations nor Tv App/Netflix capabilities. Room was large, two single beds which were a bit hard but manageable. Private Onsen experience just a small hot tub in a small bathroom, nothing special but worth a try at 2000Yen for 45mins. We didn’t try the public onsen. Western breakfast option somewhat missing the spot, opted out after first morning. Expensive but worked out ok given location!

Tired around the edges, fraying carpets, no English TV instructions, no English onsen explanations, very overpriced restaurants so we walked into town for meals. Listed as an international hotel. We speak Japanese well but sometimes need support for written instructions. Very hard beds so we slept on the futons. There is a turn down service to provide linens for the futons. That was not indicated anywhere is the room, so we called since the sheets on the futon were not clean. They then explained that we had to call for clean linens. Odd.
