Peaceful
So enjoyed our stay at Blue Crab...just what we needed. Fishing was great, saw dolphins several times, birds, breeze, water..., food, ocean...just about says it all. Was a wonderful trip and hope to go back soon! The place was perfect.

House on the Bay
We had a wonderful time at the house. We spent quite a bit of time just sitting there looking out at the bay and watching the pelicans and osprey dive for fish. Often a blue heron would come to visit as well. It was just very relaxing. Location was great for us. Bon Secour is just a few miles away where you can either walk the trails or go fishing. The house is located right across from the Sassy Bass convenience store and just blocks away from Jesse’s, which serves some of the best food in the area. Shonna, the host, was also very responsive to any questions we had.

It was a nice place, but I wish they would of had a cleaning stations for fish and a longer water hose, lights on the pier so you can set there when it gets dark a light over the stove to be able to see better when your cooking.

Blue Crab Stay
Nice quiet place & dog friendly. However, no access to the water (no railings/ladder), bathroom is tiny with no where to put anything-would be nice to have some shelves and house was not very clean-baseboards & window seals had dirt caked on them and the sunroom was very dirty. This could be a very nice property if it were cleaned from top to bottom once in a while and it the dock was upgraded to have access to the water. Even though there were these issues we made the best of it and had a wonderful time!

It was so nice have two houses on the property for us to do things by ourselves as well as things together in the evening or morning. The view was beautiful. We also saw a dolphin!!!

The property was beautiful and very quiet! The house and guest cottage was perfect for Our family. The dock was a great size and provided beautiful views for our morning coffee on the bay. We seen dolphins everyday. Great place!

Everything was good, except there was know ladder on pier!!! An the grill should be bigger an it needs a picnic table in front by the grill !! Besides that it was good 👍 😊🌅

Ocean Time
Had a great time. The best ocean we’ve experienced in 12 years coming to the Gulf Coast. The cottages were cozy and the sunsets wonderful. The week just went to fast as always when your at the beach.

Exactly what we were hoping it would be
The two cottages met our needs perfectly. Pier is so convenient for fishing, sunset, lightning show, relaxing. Beach access just a couple miles away. Away from all of the noise and confusion. Would suggest adding adding a second picnic table for the main cottage. Already planning another family gathering to stay here.

My new favorite place
This place was nothing short of some quality time much needed and true r&r! I loved everything about this little gem, small, cute and quiet! The guest house was perfect for a couple! And the privacy! I'm that extra mom and brought all my household stuff with me, but totally not needed. She provides basic starter essentials and there is a DG just down the road for anything else. If you don't want to be front and center with all the tourist stuff and busyness this is the place for you! I could go on and on.....Fort Morgan was just perfect for us and we will definitely be returning!

Very clean, great view and quiet. Has a 2nd cottage on property that was very nice. Bath in cottage was larger than one in house and looked new. Liked that not real close to neighbors. Only thing would have Liked was a hand held shower head for handicapped son.

Enjoyed spring break on bay. Only complaint is end of driveway needs cleared so you can see oncoming traffic that definitely speeds on Hwy 180.

Beautiful Location
The location was perfect. The houses were as stated. The pier was nice to fish from- we did not get to do much fishing due to the cold weather, but plan to return when the weather is better. The kitchen in the main cottage was nice and equipped with everything we needed. The yard was nice for our puppies to run around - only a couple sand spur incidents, but no big issue. We love being away from the congestion of condos on the main strip- very quiet location.

Relaxing stay on the bay
My husband and I spent three nights at this property to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We normally stay at a hotel on the beach, but decided to try something different this time, and I'm glad we did. My husband and I stayed in the main house, and our daughter and her husband stayed one night in the adjacent "tiny house". The tiny house was immaculate and well done - king sized bed, huge soaking tub, nicely-sized shower, small kitchenette, big-screen TV, leather couch. The main house is obviously an older structure (concrete block) but with many updates - mostly to the kitchen - beautiful new countertops (quartz?), updated appliances, blue tile backsplash. Minimalistic furnishings, which I liked. The "living room" has a couch, two armchairs, and a large screen TV. The eat in kitchen has a nicely sized table with six chairs. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other has a full bed. There are no closets in the bedrooms, but there is a bar for hanging clothes. The smaller bedroom has a small dresser. The low point for the main house was the bathroom. It's very small with a teeny-tiny corner sink. Adequate for brushing teeth, but not much more. Good-sized shower stall but the concrete floor was a little slick. Towels, one roll of toilet paper, and a small bar of soap were provided. Honestly, if someone were of a larger size, they might have trouble with this bathroom. The view from the dock is beautiful, but for those who might have balance issues, note that there are no handrails on the dock. A small bench is secured to the dock and there were lots of fish splashing around near the dock, for those who like to "wet a hook". The location is good - far enough from Gulf Shores to be away from the hustle and bustle, but not so far that a run for lunch or groceries is a hassle. The property is across the road from The Beach Club, so that offers options for meals if you don't want to cook. Overall, we were very pleased with the property. A couple of recommendations are to put handrails up on the dock, add a nightstand in the larger bedroom, and perhaps a step or small stool in the shower for those who like to prop when shaving legs. Definitely a good option for a small family or group of friends.

Great potential!
Matt was very prompt and polite to return calls and do what he could. Beware, one hour from checking to call housekeeping back to clean. Screened patio so dirty did not want to stay out there. I called and house keeping they did come and clean window seals on patio but not floor. . Windows and window seals looking out over the water looked like they had not been cleaned all summer. I had to clean if we wanted to enjoy what we were paying for. Smoke detectors were not activated. No bath mats in cottage #2 ceramic tile floors, very nice but no place to hang clothes. Two cottages sleeps 8 you get 8 towels. could use instructions on operation of AC.

Overall property was good!!
The cleaning could have been a little better!! There was left over dog hair on floors and also hair left in bath tub in outside cottage!! It was a bit dusty as well!! There was also trash in the yard. The house was nice the dock is newly built but not suitable for young children as there is no railings!! Both of the showers also do not drain properly so be careful getting in shower as you will slip!!

Thank you for your comments. Our housekeeping company is responsive and may be contacted during a stay if needed. Numbers for housekeeping, maintenance, and host are provided but we were not contacted during this stay. This property is pet friendly. We were not aware of the slow drains in the bathrooms but this has now been addressed.

Beautiful bay views
Great time! Beautiful property. Guest house shower is a bit small for heavier people. Fished, watched dolphins around sunset and enjoyed the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the dock. Beautiful place to stay, just the guest shower being so small and the main bathroom being small. But overall very happy with our choice to stay here.

Nice place!
We did enjoy our stay. The place is wonderful. It was very clean overall. There were some items that needed tending to. The owner said she would take care of it. The appliances were absolutely awesome!! Overall we would recommend and plan on staying there again!! Our dog enjoyed it too. He has a back injury, so having no steps in and out helped everyone!!

Great space and privacy. Perfect for family with teenagers. Very clean and modern. Lots of parking. I would recommend bringing more bathing towels, only one per person. Even with washer and dryer you tend to need more towels. Matt is great and very helpful.

Relaxing Family Vacation
We had a great time, Shonna and Matt were very helpful and quick to respond when the A/C was not working. It was fixed within a day. The main house was perfect for our family of 6 and my parents stayed in the cottage. The boys caught fish, shrimp, and crabs right from the pier. We saw dolphins 3 out of 4 days and the last night there were 8 dolphins swimming for about 40 minutes right at the end of the pier! Super close to Fort Morgan (history buffs) and about 20 minutes from Gulf Shores downtown...the beach was fantastic, saw a shark and sea turtle from the Gulf Shores State Park Pier. It was nice to be close to the downtown area and then we could head back to the house for some calm, peaceful nights on the pier. Definitely would return and recommend if you are searching for a relaxing family vacation.

Thank you for the fantastic review! The pier has great for fishing and apparently catching! The dolphins are always so fun to watch and just relax. The pier even has a little bench you can sit on to watch dolphins! I am sorry the new A/C unit stopped working, but we always go above and beyond to fix any issue with the property quick and efficiently. This location is in a great location! You get the best of Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores!

Fort Morgan Mini Vacation
We were only there for a short time but we really enjoyed our stay at The Blue Crab Bungalow! The view and sunsets were incredible! Both Cottages were super cute and and had such a comfy home feel to them! They both accommodated our family perfectly, Our only complaint would have been the air in the main Cottage seems to be on a override control and would turn it's self up, making it hotter then we'd like, especially at night. Other then that we had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

I am glad you enjoyed our home! I wish you had let me know about the air conditioning as we do not have it on override. The guest following you called with this issue and we immediately sent out the A/C installation company, as the unit is less than 2 months old. There was a faulty part and it was replaced that day.

The perfect getaway
