Wifi works well in room, but is slow in evenings after 10pm. There is also a train station near hotel which can be heard and can be loud at times. Overall, good for price and clean, very basic so dont expect anything fancy. Also only one person speaks english so can be difficult to translate. Firstly thsy continued to say i was not booked with them thiugh i had fully paid for my stay through Expedia. It took more than an hour to resolve. I was first taken to a different which i belive is the one i booked on website. They decided to send me to a dodgy one where even their standard rate did not reconcile to the one I had booked. Again the address was difficult to find, phines were nit working. I stayed one night and checked out and cancelled my reservation with Expedia, waiting foe my refund. When I checked out i asked the guy at the hotel to call a taxi, he called one amd asked me to pay him upfront RMB65\. I told him.i need a metred taxi and will pay driver on arrival. He was upset and cancelled the whole thing and would not assist. I asked the other assistant who did not help either. I had to walk down the road a bit of a distance to find a taxi. Yhank God I found a metre taxi. What a nightmare. No wonder there are no pic of this hotel on website, probably because they have nothing nice to shoot. The hotel is in disgusting state, very poor neighborhood and badly maintained. If you are westerner like me, you will wonder what to eat in breakfast. Its lousy with capital L. The hotel staff barely speaks English but very polite. So if food and maintence is not an issue but only price go for it. I forget to mention, you can take a scooty ride for this hotel from the Guangzhou station for as little as 5-10 RMB. A bit messy, but looks more local. The reception people do not speak english very well, thank god i had a translation program on my phone! Though they are VERY helpfull and assist you in any way. When in the room it was very noisy outside in the hallway. The breakfast is really poor, but it is included so we cannot complain. The location for us was good because we needed to do business in the area, for general tourists it is quite hard to find and also for taxi's hard to find. Make sure they go to the small Xiwan road, not the big long one. The room was cleaned every day so that was good.
