Carmen is an excellent and attentive host, and a sweet person, as well as an excellent cook. Bathroom was sparkling clean. The balcony of my room offered an excellent view of one of the most beautiful architectural structures of the city. The nights are quiet, making for a sound sleep, unlike the center of the city. Most of all, I always felt right at home.

Un lugar muy acogedor y tranquilo. Excelente para descansar después de una buena caminata por Guanajuato. El cuarto estaba muy limpio, con televisor, baño y una terracita con una vista muy amena. La señora Carmelita es súper amable, muy atenta con nosotros y sus desayunos están deliciosos. Claro que me encantaría volver ahí en mi próxima visita a Guanajuato!!! :D

Nos fue muy bien, las instalaciones son cómodas y se ajustaron a nuestras necesidades y expectativas. La amabilidad de doña Carmen hace que la estadia en el Hogar de Carmelita sea aún mejor. Recomiendo que se tomen su tiempo para conversar con ella y disfrutar de sus historias y recomendaciones turísticas. Esperamos volver pronto.

Todo muy bien solo que tube que salir temprano y se estraviaron las llaves deje un cambio de 180 creo que es suficiente para unas llaves nuevas ya que son 3 comunes pero me dicen la.fuela que son como 400 pesos eso fue lo único malo por lo de más todo exelente muy buen.lugar

Me pase las fiestas patrias de este año 2019, desde que llegue carmelita fue una persona muy amable, respetuosa y sabe hablar con la gente, el servicio fue bueno y la habitación estuvo perfecta, para el centro son 20 minutos o menos caminando pero vas disfrutando de Guanajuato, recomiendo el lugar te hace sentir como en casa.

El hostel es agradable, simple pero hogareño. La limpieza es buena al igual que la comodidad, la dueña Carmelita es una señora super atenta y amable al igual que sus nietos. Lo único que no me encanto fue el desayuno, para mi simple y careciente de la buena comida mexicana que uno espera en una ciudad como Guanajuato (chilaquiles, enchiladas, etc) dicho esto no entendí porque a nosotros solo nos dio un desayun simple y a los huespedes siguientes si les dio "almuerzo". En general lo recomiendo, pero si son de buen comer no esperen llenarse con el desayuno.

Fantastic trip to Guanajuato!

All the great reviews about Carmelita's are spot-on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carmelita is a wonderful host and equally great cook! The location of her establishment will allow you to walk past numerous restaurants and businesses, on your way to the center of town. Also you are within walking distance of Presa de la Olla. Carmelta is the greatest host I've ever encountered! She's on top of things, helpful, accommodating (out of her own will, she prepared a special healthy breakfast for my wife every day while we were there!). She and her staff really do an amazing job of going the extra mile.

Fue una muy grata experiencia el hospedarnos en el Hogar de Carmelita. El hotel es limpio, seguro, cómodo, bien ubicado y en buen precio, pero lo que más destaca es la amabilidad y la atención que recibes de parte de todo el personal junto con la gran anfitriona Doña Carmelita. Very nice and accommodating staff. Excellent meals, after 9AM for late risers. Early risers take snacks. Very helpful in obtaining tours, transportation, laundry service and anything you need. They maintain the property and keep it clean.

Ok room, but noisy

We looked for quiet room, and therefore chose Hogar de Carmelita about 15 to 20 minutes walk from historical centre. However, noise from traffic and a party place with loud music close to the habitation was very annoying and made it difficult to sleep. Simple continental breakfast acceptable.
