Hotel Riu Palace Costa Rica - All Inclusive

2/10 Terrible

"I was so disappointed with the Riu Palace in Costa Rica. I took my husband, my sister, and her husband there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and our experience was absolutely terrible. We checked into Room 2083, and it was ridiculous. The room looked very old, the sheets were yellowish and worn out, and there was no ocean view at all — all we could see were the pools and gardens, even though we specifically booked an ocean view room. I went back to customer service, and they told me that if I looked to the side, I would be able to see the ocean. I told them absolutely not — I paid for an ocean view room. They then moved us to the fourth floor, but when I got there, there were three huge palm trees directly in front of the balcony door, so again, there was still no ocean view. On top of that, the faucet handle in the bathroom was broken, the room looked terrible, and the sheets were still old and yellowish. Same menu every day. Only good thing about the place is outside by the pool."

"El hotel es viejo , no le han hecho renovaciones , la comida es terrible ; todos los dias para desayuno,comida,cena es el mismo menu!! No hay variaciones en nada!! Y la comida no es buena , no tiene sabor Si algo se acabo en el menú, ya no lo reponen para los demas , ejemplo : una 1 bandeja de queso para el desayuno , si en 1 hora los primeros customers ya lo consumieron. Ya no lo ponen mas porque se acabo . Etc "

"Kind of torn on my experience here. For a first time traveler to Tamarindo, this seemed like a great option. The pools and location are very nice. The rooms, service, and everything else seem more like an afterthought. From check-in to drinks at the bar, there was little to no help at all and definitely no warm welcome. The rooms and most of the property feel like they quit updating it 20 years ago, it just happens to be on such a beautiful piece of beach that you overlook it completely. If it weren’t for the location being top tier, I don’t think this option would be nearly as popular as it is. 3/5 for me"

"Primera vez en el lugar, y definitivamente no será la última. Está a 10 minutos en carro del centro, pero ofrecen transporte gratuito ida y vuelta. La piscina y el restaurante están muy bien, además nos encantó que el happy hour es por dos horas, bastante bien para pasar la tarde en la propiedad. Tienen muchos servicios y actividades, así que se pueden hacer buenos planes para la estancia. La noche que fuimos había música en vivo, pero no estoy seguro si es siempre. El personal es muy amable, creo que eso es siempre lo que resalta en un lugar. Muchas gracias por habernos recibido!"
