Noon Lodge at Mallard Bay

"This place was so fun! As others have said, the rooms were a little more "dated" than the pictures might have you believe. But it's Big Bear and you're staying in a cabin, not a fancy hotel. You kind of know what you're getting into when you get a cabin in Big Bear. To our pleasant surprise, we got a downstairs cabin facing the bay. Walking outside and seeing that view every day was awesome. The fire pits and grounds in general were really well-maintained. The staff is very hands-off. When you arrive, you pick up your key from the lobby by grabbing the envelope with your name on it. There's no one there to check you in, but the envelope has all the instructions you need. We saw a man turning on and off the fire pits every night, as well as doing other things on the grounds, but he was the only one. I'm sure he wouldn't have helped if we had an issue, but we didn't have any! The bathroom was very small, but the water pressure in the shower was great! The only complaint we had was that we thought we were getting a full-size fridge in our cabin and it was 1/3 the size of that. As vegans in Big Bear, there is almost no where for us to eat and we brought everything we needed to cook--- so that fridge was as packed as we could get it. Our water and drinks had to stay warm bc they couldn't fit. Other than that, we had an amazing time with our dog. She loved sniffing around and getting to lie on the bed with us. Overall a great place and would definitely stay again."

"We originally booked a cabin, but a couple of weeks before our trip, we received an Expedia message saying there were no cabins available for our dates, even though we had already paid the deposit. They did have a 2-queen motel room reserved for us instead, and honestly, it worked out for the better. The room had air conditioning, which was definitely needed during a hot July weekend in Big Bear! The room was clean, the Wi-Fi worked great, and I really liked that the TV allowed us to switch inputs. We were able to hook up our Fire Stick and use our streaming services, including watching WWE SummerSlam. Our room was right next to the lake, so we had amazing views and it was so relaxing with the BBQ and benches at the picnic area. The location was also close enough to the Village that we walked over a few times for food—Village Pizza, BBQ at The Cookshak, and of course morning coffee at Tea & Coffee Exchange. The only issue we had was with parking. It seemed like the parking and picnic area could be better monitored, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There was a large gathering at the picnic area, and by the time we returned, there was only one parking spot left. I'm not sure if everyone there was staying at the property, but it would be nice if parking was better enforced to make sure registered guests have a place to park. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend, especially if you're visiting during the summer!"
Forest getaway in Fawnskin, the quiet side of Big Bear

"Nice cabin in Fawnskin, as described. Comfortable beds. We were visiting our daughter on the next street over so we didn't do any cooking, but the kitchen looked well stocked. The deck was nice in the evenings when it cooled off. We checked the closet for a fan to help cool the first floor bedroom but didn't find one. Opening the window as soon as it cooled off in the evening made a huge difference, Appreciate not having to strip beds or wash towels."

"Everything was exactly as described. I had no communication issues with the host. There was plenty of space, with four bedrooms and enough bathrooms for everyone. The best part was how quiet the property was, even though it was close to the main road, especially at night. My family and I had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time there."

"From the moment we decided to spontaneously take a mini vacation I looked here first. I am not very tech savvy and called instead of continuing on line. That moment we knew we made the right choice because the customer service staff was great! Luigi helped navigate me through everything! When we arrived we knew in that moment that it was going to be a great time. The house (North Shore Lakefront) was exactly like what was shown in the pictures! It was so comfortable and gorgeous! The decor down to the necessities for our stay was provided. We spent 4 days 3 nights and loved every moment of it. We were adults, and kids and the cabin accommodated us all. On our last night we took our last pictures of the sky and it was at that moment we realized we didn't want to go home! Will we be back? Yes, yes we will! Thank you to everyone for a memorable time."
