We took the Gondola up to the hotel and then from there it was very easy to go to Grindelwald 'First' and was very accesible to some great hikes in the area, and then once the Gondola stopped at 6:00 p.m. it became very quiet and peaceful at the hotel. We had the restaurant and the mountain to ourselves for the rest of the night. The driving up was a bit disconcerting with the single lane road shared with the trot bikes coming down but it was worth it. The views are amazing and the rooms were great. There’s a restaurant on site with great food and breakfast is included. Room is well designed and fit 6 of us easily. Bathroom is remodeled and has great shower. Parking was available for free and you can drive up or take the gondola. There’s a large playground that the kids loved!
