Top Gries Hotel Reviews

Hotel Tyrolis

10/10 Excellent

"Great hotel, excellent staff. Every aspect of our stay was top notch. We stayed there for a week, but I wish we had more time. One extra benefit I need to mention, the very spacious rooms. Our room came as a real bonus when we had a rainy day and were tired anyway, so we stayed indoors. The room felt like we were at home. Very highly recommended."

Dorf.Apart

10/10 Excellent

"The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet little village, which made the stay very relaxing. It was also conveniently located near shops and restaurants, so it was easy to get food and other necessities. The check-in was a little confusing. The reception is at the restaurant next to the hotel, but the sign indicating where to check in was quite small and I initially missed it. A larger or clearer sign would have made the check-in process easier."

VAYA Kühtai

10/10 Excellent

"Absolutely spectacular! Our stay at VAYA was unforgettable. The hotel is modern, spotless, and surrounded by breathtaking views. The breakfast was delicious, varied, and complete, the beds were extremely comfortable, and every member of the staff was genuinely warm and charming. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would happily stay here again!"

VAYA Sölden

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at this property. Everything was comfortable, welcoming, and well looked after, making our experience truly enjoyable. A special mention goes to Matthew from the restaurant service, who was exceptional. He was always kind, helpful, friendly, and greeted us with a genuine smile. His warm nature and attentive service made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Matthew is a real asset to the property, and we truly appreciated his hospitality. We would happily recommend this property and hope to return again!"

LIFESTEIL Appartementresort

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is very unique - a jungle theme in Austria! The hotel still feels very new, the apartments are well equipped and very spacious. The spa and pool area is perfect for the kids and adults to unwind at the end of the day. We got a free summer card with our stay which was unexpected and saved us a lot of money. We got free access to Area 47 swim area (17 mi so away), which was a highlight our boys"

What is the best area to stay in Gries?

The best area to stay in Gries for most visitors is the village centre, particularly around Dorfstraße.

This area is the heart of Gries, offering easy access to local amenities and the main ski lifts. Dorfstraße is where you'll find most of the shops, restaurants, and hotels, making it very convenient for daily activities. The layout is compact, allowing you to walk to most places within minutes.

Couples looking for a relaxing and convenient base will find the village centre ideal. You're just a short stroll from the main lifts, allowing for stress-free mornings on the slopes. In the evenings, there are several welcoming restaurants and bars within easy reach, superb for unwinding after a day of activities.

For families, staying near the village centre is also an excellent option. Many accommodations here are close to the ski school meeting points and beginner slopes, which simplifies logistics with children.

When is the best time to go to Gries?

The best time to visit Gries, Tyrol, Austria, largely depends on whether you're seeking winter sports or summer mountain activities.

The ski lifts typically operate throughout this period, and the village has a festive, cosy feel, especially around Christmas and New Year.

If you prefer hiking, mountain biking, or simply enjoying the alpine scenery without the snow, the best time to visit is from June to September. The weather is generally warm and sunny, superb for exploring the numerous trails that crisscross the valley and surrounding peaks. Wildflowers bloom, and the longer daylight hours allow for extended outdoor adventures.
