"Unbeatable location for a short stay. Our family room had a view of the harbour, Bryggen & Fløyen. And we could easily walk to all. Great transport links nearby, too. The breakfast was great. We could fill up to keep us going all day. The staff was warm and welcoming. We even availed of the cozy, if somewhat small, bar/laounge in the evenings with its open fire. Not the first Scandic I've stayed in and not the last. "
"The room was spotless and the staff were very friendly even before I checked into my room. They checked in on me while I was waiting for my family to return and even brought me coffee while I waited. "
"Three of us shared a family room and we were very comfortable. Great proximity to the train station and tram system. 10 minute walk to downtown. 45 min tram to the airport. The breakfast was absolutely splendid! We had an interior room which didn’t have a view. Not much selection on the tv (a couple of Nordic channels) so we ended up buying an HDMI cable for our laptop so that we could watch movies. Staff were very helpful.
We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others especially if they were taking the train to Bergen."
"1. excellent location, superb friendly service. very funky
we would stay again, room we were in, while pricey $400+ on hotels.com, was a suite with 2 rooms, for 4 nights.
2. some negatives (not big)
a. no receipt copy given after eating , evidently had to ask for it to get it which we forgot, but easily charged to room. not sure whether automatically giving recept copy (whether paper or online fine) was due to cultural differences or lack of training.
b. food server did not understand order, wrong item brought, we had to pay for it, so hotel might be in money trouble, but food was excellent, pricey but not out of hand for Bergen.
c. power went off one night, ac did not come back on.
with outside temperature in negative Celsius not a big issue but blinking light may bother some
d. coffee in restaurant made with same machine, right outside restaurant entrance, where we made our free coffee for room, but we paid for it?
e. no phone in room to call front desk, need to use our phone, which is fine. but with esims we could not text, suggest adding hotel WhatsApp address to card."
"Fabulous location and quality of rooms. We stayed here about eight years ago and loved it so immediately came back here when we returned to Bergen and weren't disappointed. The breakfast was fabulous too!"
"Room was small, but well appointed. Room was clean and ready for us when we arrived (early)!
The breakfast was fabulous, especially liked the ginger lemon aperitif!!
The location was perfect!!"
