"We stayed with two kids and it was great. Nice friendly staff and animals. We didn’t try the hot tub or sauna but they looked great and we saw others trying them out. Breakfast was good (especially the cakes!). Very close to Krokur (small town) and lots of activities nearby (horse riding, hot spa, turf houses)"

"This hotel is classic Icelandic charm on full display from the time you show up, with a thorough explanation of the hotel property, and great rooms. We were upgraded for free (partly due to Orbitz status) but the apartment rooms are really perfect with a porch overlooking the ocean and river estuary. Also, you can see the westfjords from this vantage. To boot, the dinner with lamb was some of the best shank dinner entree meat I’ve ever had. I highly recommend!!"

"The Kolkuós Guesthouse is a hidden gem! We really enjoyed the the quiet, secluded location right on the shore. The house is beautifully remodeled and furnished and very clean. Breakfast was amazing and served in the quaint dining room. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. The Kolkuós Guesthouse was by far our favorite place to stay on our trip to Iceland!"

"Located in Hofsos, small town, as others have noted, the details says restaurant but there is not one on site or even in the town. There is a convenience store across the street that has pizza and sub sandwiches, that is the only nearby dining option. The kitchen is nice but small. The whole time we were there two ladies in the other room camped out in it. Be aware also that it's not clear the actual property from the photos but it's the 8th or 9th photo. Not the black house. The rooms are simple but clean. Shower is a little small but you have your own. The local pool was great, stunning views and a nice little walk after off to the side to view basalt cliffs."

"Exceeded expectations - garage property converted to a nice loft apartment with a bedroom and upstairs loft - brand new design - access to laundry and kitchen (no oven) - very spacious with high ceilings - waterfront view and convenient location in an industrial stop-over type town"
