"Rooms were compact but we were there only 1 night. Overall, staff were very friendly, property very clean and restaurant food was good. We just got off 7 day cruise in Piraeus and want to see another side of Greece before leaving. Airport shuttle was good bonus. Staff spoke english."

"The highlight was a pool on the roof, overlooking the acropolis. Being on the roof, it wasn't very deep and was fairly small, so with quite a lot of hotel guests using it, there wasn't really room for a proper swim, but it was great for cooling off. We were delighted to see there was a shuttle-bus into the city centre, but it didn't go very regularly and got filled up so we had to walk. The breakfast choice was phenomenal - I could have stayed there all day - I couldn't even decide what to drink, let alone what to eat - but the following day, when I checked out before breakfast, all that was available was dry cake, crumbly biscuits and sachet coffee - a bit of an anticlimax for an otherwise good stay."

"The Athens Gate is a great hotel - the room itself was great, the property was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff was very helpful. Highly recommend if you are interested in exploring Athens during your stay - everything we wanted to see during our time there was in walking distance from the hotel. So many bars, restaurants, shops, etc. was nearby."

"The main reason we stayed there was the price. It was very respectable for what we needed. We landed in Athens in an evening and our flight was the next morning so it did the job. It had free shuttle service but only runs ones in an hour we had to wait almost an hour. It is very prompt in the morning because you make a reservation what time you need to leave to the airport the night before. So overall out recommended."

"Breakfast was great except on the days that it was busy. Items in the buffet weren’t topped up. We noticed the difference since we were there for several nights. Overall great but if our only experience was on a busy morning, we wouldn’t have been impressed."
