Gable End Hotel

Bedrooms were really cold , drawers on bedside tables were dirty , tiny spiders all over toilet, holes on curtains , the further you put shower up the colder the water would get. Second day shower water was cold.

We booked this property because it was advertised as having restaurant and bar, after our day out we returned to have a meal and chill out in the bar but the place was deserted with no sign of any people or the above, guests above had tv on loudly until early hours but worst of all a stench from the bathroom of raw sewage that worsened during the night and went into the bedroom, each time one of us got up to use the bathroom we all balked having almost no sleep and got up earlier than planned to book into another hotel to shower as we couldnt possibly shower there. I did immediately e mail the hotel asking for a refund before sharing our complaints but iv not had a reply. This should be addressed with environmental health. Im happy for someone to contact me to discuss and i can share a copy of my e mail.

Very good value for money, and fuss free, given the keys to room and front door, so can let yourself in any time, which is all you want. Room cleaned every day, which i was not expecting, and has a kettle and coffee and tea provided. Furniture is probably from the 90,s, but meets purpose, and room size for a single economy pretty decent, Only has around 4 parking spaces, but you can park on the road for free, Thats the advantage of been at the back end of the hotels and guest houses They are just setting up a small bar, and was opening tonight from 5pm to 9pm
