Other things to note:
• Access: Last half-mile is a steep dirt/gravel road. Most cars and minivans can make it, but 4WD/AWD is highly recommended, especially in winter. Low-profile or sports cars are not advised. Parking at the bottom of the road is available if needed. • Winter Weather: Snow and ice may occur. 4WD/AWD and snow-rated tires highly recommended for winter bookings. Travel insurance suggested; no refunds for weather-related issues. • Wood Stove – Available for guest use only from October-April • Entertainment – All TV’s are streaming only through Roku (no cable TV), bring your logins for all your streaming apps and services. * Internet - Fast fiber connection up to 1GB up/download speeds • Connectivity: Very limited cell service; Wi-Fi calling needed for phone calls. • Guest & Pet Policy: Maximum 6 guests (ages 2+), 2 dogs allowed (6+ months and potty trained) • Accessibility: Ramp from driveway to front door; stairs to basement. Driveway and fire pit area are level. * This cabin is located in a remote, wooded mountain setting surrounded by nature. While the property is professionally treated on a regular basis, occasional insects may still be present, which is normal for this environment. * As with many mountain homes, water pressure may vary slightly at times. The cabin is on a well system, which is typical for the area. * Due to the rural location, occasional brief power or internet interruptions can occur, particularly during storms or severe weather. These are typically rare and resolved quickly but are part of the mountain experience. • Safety & Terrain: Surrounding land is steep and rugged; exercise caution with children, pets, and wildlife (deer, eagles, coyotes, occasional bears/snakes). • EV Charging: Level 1 outdoor 110V outlet available; bring your own extension cord. * The cabin does NOT have a pool nor is it walking distance to the Lost River, this was automatically generated by VRBO not me! Private river access on the Cacapon River IS available a short 2 mile drive down the road that is gated and fully available for guest use where you can enjoy a variety of water activities such as swimming, fishing, tubing, kayaking etc. Note this lot is shared with other owners on my road but is not open to the general public.

This cabin was beautiful and the views were breathtaking! The inside was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool table provided lots of entertainment. Steve was very nice and super helpful with the whole process. I highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation.
The Eagle's Nest was a perfect weekend retreat for our family. The views from the deck are stunning and it's a perfect, quiet spot to relax. River access is convenient, only a five minute drive down the mountain, and easy to find. We spent all day swimming, looking for crayfish and chatting with kayakers and families on tubes floating by. At night we went into Berkeley Springs and had a wonderful dinner with our pups, indoors, at Berkeley Springs Brewing Co. When we returned it was raining so we had a family game night utilizing the pool table and foosball table in the basement. We appreciated all of the details like a stocked kitchen, great internet, comfy beds, and dog treats and towels while staying in the wilderness. The Eagle's Nest is truly the best of both worlds. Plus the host, Steve, provides so much helpful information which made planning, arrival and departure a breeze.
Excellent location for a quiet getaway. Had quality pots and pans. Quality towels. Lots of outlets and USB ports for charging and personal items. Had above average communication with Steve. Would definitely stay here again.
My family had a wonderful time at Eagle's Nest! Everything was top notch; absolutely beautiful scenery, clean rooms, fully stocked kitchen, and the games downstairs kept everyone happy! I especially appreciated how clean the deck was at this place. Many times at other rentals we've stayed at, we can't use the deck or we have to spend time cleaning the spider webs off of chairs and tables. I wish we stayed longer! Next time!
Property is an extremely quiet and peaceful getaway in a beautiful area of West Virginia. The property had everything one could possibly need and had wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Steve was an excellent host and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend!
This is the second time I’ve stayed here and it still had everything I needed for a nice and quiet holiday weekend! The upgrades to the property since last year made it even better than before! My last trip was perfect, this one was exceptionally perfect! Thank you Steve for hosting!
Provided written manuals with a lot of details that could be viewed online. The online pages helped me to get ready for potentially unexpected needs. Before the snow storm hit the area, the owner reached out to me and warned me about potential inaccessibility of the cabin plus additionally required equipment in order to gain better access. When the snow storm hit right before my arrival date, owner reached out to me again to tell me about the dangerous road condition with potential power outage and offered a refund. As VRBO app made an option to request refund unavailable since it was less than 24 hours before my scheduled check in time, the owner contacted the company to quickly process the refund. I was reluctant to risk getting stuck on the hill before the cabin or end up in a cabin without utilities thinking it would still be memorable until my friend decided against joining me for potentially a pre-historic trip. However, the host was extremely considerate and willing to make sure I wouldn't end up paying for a trip that may not conform to what I might have expected or wanted from the cabin. I know how hard getting a refund can be at some places once a payment is made, so I was very surprised and want to try booking here again.
The property was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The expansive view of the surrounding valleys and mountains through the wall of sliding glass doors leading to the spacious deck made one feel at one with nature, but with the comforts of home. The surrounding terrain was pretty steep and challenging for us low-landers, but made me appreciate how fit the locals must be! The satellite wi-fi was sufficient for wi-fi calling and e-mail but limited my ability to work, making this the perfect getaway.
