Overall a decent cabin. Think it’s probably best if you have a group or family of 6 looking for something economical. Seems like the cabin could use an overall refresh. Wish the hot tub was on the enclosed patio.
The cabin was truly lovely with a spacious kitchen, common areas and wonderfulHot tub and fire pit.

Relaxing spot
Pros:
Enjoyed staying at the property. Family enjoyed the peace and quiet. The screened in porch was particularly enjoyable, and the kids enjoyed going down to the little creek in the backyard. The river access was a nice perk. The hot tub and new grill were in great condition.
Cons:
There was a dead mouse in the basement. It was pretty obvious it had been there for awhile and that the cleaning staff tried to mask it with Glade plug-ins. Once we found it and cleared it out the smell in the basement quickly cleared as well. There were no kayaks or canoes at the river that were associated with this cabin. The shed was a complete mess, and while it contained several rafts and floats the pump was missing critical components. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom sounded like it was about to fall on us.
Also, received texts from the supposed owner during my stay. When I complained about the kayaks, he told me to ask an attendant for help but I’m pretty sure there are no attendants that work at the riverside. That and numerous spelling errors makes me wonder if this text service is contracted out.
All in all, it was a fun stay but not all as advertised.
Rooms were clean, and the property matched the description. It was little difficult to open the tub cover and change the tub settings because the tub is a different model from the instruction videos. The host was super nice and responsive.
The cabin and the location were excellent and we had such a good time! Quick responses and attentiveness from the host, no issues, generally. Some cleanliness issues, but hopefully they'll be squared away for an upcoming stay! Definitely recommend the cabin.
The cabin was on a beautiful mtn. and very peaceful. The hot tub had some issues so we only used it 2 times at the end of our stay. The pictures/info on the site said 2 double beds on main floor but it was a double and a twin. Would have liked to have some wood available for a fire on our snowy night. There were some cleanliness issues and several rooms could use some refreshing but it was a nice camping cabin in the woods.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The stay was disappointing due to cleanliness issues. The cutlery was not properly cleaned, and there was pet hair throughout the house, including on the bedding. This made the space feel unhygienic and uncomfortable. I hope the host can address these issues for future guests.
I had a wonderful time here! Hot tub was warm and clean when we arrived! We spent every morning and evening on the screened porch. It was so peaceful.I would absolutely stay here again.
This little cabin in the woods was in such a great location. We loved being both in a secluded location, but just a short drive to the river and not far from berkley springs to food/ supplies. We also took a day trip to winchester to shop. Loved the screened in porch to drink coffee and read.
This cabin was just right for a weekend away with friends. The location is peaceful and private. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, great screened in porch. Kitchen was well stocked with basics, but could use some dish towels, oven mitts and a baking dish. Had plenty of pots, pans and utensils.
Came for my dads birthday and the house was absolutely perfect!

Cozy Weekend Getaway
My friends and I had a wonderful, cozy weekend retreat in the snow! The hot tub was so much fun and the s'mores ingredients were a nice welcoming touch. The owner was very responsive to any questions and allowed us to check out late due to weather conditions.
Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway. The community is unique in that it is gated, but 1200 acres. We only used the upstairs bedrooms, but the beds were comfortable. Loved the screened in porch!! The only addition that is needed is a fly swatter. Some very large, but slow moving flies appeared on our last night and we had to get creative with how we disposed of them. Very clean cabin!
Stayed here this past weekend and it was very peaceful. We unfortunately, didn’t have hot water however Marie was very responsive and helpful with alternatives. Beautiful and clean home and pretty location. Thanks Marie!
The property was as pictured, secluded, comfortable a serene location in the woods. The property management and communication was outstanding. And he cabin had everything you would need there and it could certainly host a family. For a rustic cabin it was great and serviceable. One minor complaint (and we realize we are being just a bit picky) the furniture and fixtures were a bit worn, the beds just a bit uncomfortable and wobbly. We enjoyed the location and it was just what we needed - but a little TLC would improve the experience immensely.

The Stress Cure!
What a wonderful stay! The nut house was the perfect cozy cabin, just far enough outside of town. After a day of hiking (Paw Paw tunnel hike was stunning in the snow), the warm fire welcomed us.
The Nut House was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We cannot wait to return, as we left perfectly relaxed and happy to return to the daily grind. The owner was friendly, down to earth, and accommodating. And ( as a "clean freak") I was more than happy with the cleanliness of the cabin. Thank you for opening your rustic retreat to us! We are so grateful.

Well equipped, private cabin.
The Nut House is a very private house. It is extremely well equipped, including the makings for s'mores. It has a very nice screened in porch. Marie was very helpful and responsive to our needs. It was a little further from Berkley Springs than we anticipated, but really posed no problem. The only critcism I have is the dampness. The lower level would probably not be good for anyone with ashma or other breathing problems. We enjoyed our week there.

Cozy, private, great space!
Marie is an extremely responsive owner and answered all my questions promptly. When a problem came up she immediately fixed it and refunded a portion of the rental fee. The house is great- we had a fantastically restful couples weekend and thought about bringing our kids here in the summer to kayak, hike, roast marshmallows- looks perfect for laid back family fun. It was bigger than we two needed but the hot tub under the stars was heavenly and well worth it! Also, I cooked a lot over the weekend and was impressed with the quality of the kitchen equipment. The 2 wood stoves added a lovely touch - great for a winter weekend.

PERFECT 😁
No other word than “perfect”.......definitely recommend this property for a weekend getaway or even longer...... I wish we could have stayed about 10 more days. We arrived a little early and ran into the cleaning crew. We spoke to a Very respectful young man who let us know he would just be a few minutes until he finished...... we were fortunate enough to get an unofficial tour of the property from him.
I have been in direct contact with the owner for weeks now and she is very responsive and helpful no matter how small my silly questions were😂😂..... we will be back
