The older gentlemen made us feel like we were a burden and he didn’t want us there. Very unfriendly unlike anywhere else we have stayed. To be fair to him he was also rude to people at the bar so at least he was consistent. The property is under a slow renovation which itself is fine, however if you have vacant rooms (they did) why put us in a 1970 room at the back of the hotel. Did not walk barefoot on the carpet and used soap in the bathroom. We were only here for 1 night so it was ok. Hotel is not what we expected of a hotel that has just been recently refurbished. Rooms ok but housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Towels not changed in 4 days and no refills of tea and milk, had to ask for milk still waiting for towels to be changed! Breakfast ok but had to ask for orange juice and hot water refills daily as no one is taking responsibility of the breakfast service. Seems to be a lack of staff as owner seems to be jack of all trades and master of none 😟. Hotel is run down was not impressed with lad at reception then meet with the cleaners room door open on way to room it was disgusting, every thing dumped on the floor.Then on to room was not Hovered and bits from last guest's and was just a mess decorating and cupboards from the 70s and bathroom with bits not painted. Bed collapsed half way through the night when my husband got up for toilet. Das Fenster ließ sich nicht öffnen und die Heizung funktionierte nicht. Man hört von nebenan die Musik und die Gespräche der Handwerker. Bei Buchungs des Hotels gab es hierzu keinerlei Information. Das zweite Zimmer war ähnlich, im Badzimmer stank es aus den Abflüssen und sah nicht wirklich einladend aus. Nach Toilettenpapier musste man fragen. Das Frühstück war nicht überzeugend, die Auswahl nicht groß. Am zweiten Morgen mussten wir sehr lange warten bis wir das Frühstück bekamen, da uns niemand gesagt hatte, dass wir es hätten am Abend vorher auswählen müssen. Einige Bestandteile des Frühstück waren so fettig, dass man es nicht essen konnte. Für jemanden der keine Ansprüche hat, war der Preis von 50,00 Pfund pro Nacht wahrscheinlich ok.
