We had a wonderful stay! The host was very friendly and welcoming. Their house was very well stocked, clean and had everything we needed (plus more) for our stay. We loved the family room with foosball table. There is plenty of seating throughout the house. We loved building fires in the fireplace and also out back while overlooking the view with the tranquil creek. We truly found a gem in the Poconos and will be coming back again in the near future!
Very nice quiet area, gps took us further then wanted to go but the peoperty owner was helpful in helping us find the cabin. Very clean only thing is the shower head pressure is not that great but it is good to still use.
It was a relaxing atmosphere, very private, and quiet. The thermostat was a bit annoying but beyond that the amenities were just fine and the linens were clean and the space was restful. Would book again.
Everything was great, the cabin was the perfect little getaway from home. It was so relaxing being right by the water and sitting out on the porch. The owner was quickly responsive to any questions we had. Thanks for the stay!
The cabin was cozy and comfortable despite the snow and the cold we enjoyed our stay watching t.v and relaxing compare to the city life we live it was very peaceful very much needed! The host was outstanding when we reach out to him he would answer quickly! Would definitely stay here again!
Cute little cottage dog friendly, great communication with owner Earl, he is very responsive to any questions or concerns. Main bed could use a new mattress or even just a pad for comfort. Suggest having carpet cleaned as some people obviously did not potty train dogs well. Otherwise nice cozy place to stay in the Poconos and reasonably priced.
We booked our stay with intentions of relaxing and enjoying ourselves. The morning sun rising over the hills behind the river were wonderful. We also woke to some fresh snow. It was nice to be able to purchase wood at the property. 5 stars we will be back.
Had a great weekend with my brother-in-law. Cooking around the campfire is highly recomended. The river going in the backround while you sit overlooking the bank in very peaceful.
Property was as described, clean, and functional. Could use a new mattress downstairs. Owner was great! Very responsive and helpful but not intrusive. Lots of beautiful scenery.
Everything at property exactly as pics and description. Earl was an awesome host from check in to check in was prompt on answering all our questions and making sure we were comfortable. Would love to visit again we loved the area and exploring and sitting out by the fire pit enjoying drinks to cooking breakfast and dinner in the full kitchen.
Booked a few nights at earls cabin to break up a long drive home. Had a very easy check in while arriving late and great communication from Earl. Cabin had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Right on the river with a beautiful view. There is a house next door very close to the cabin the neighbors were very nice but when sitting on the back porch / back yard they were very close so if your looking to be totally secluded its not but again neighbors were great and rive was beautiful. Good pick for a country stay.
My daughter and I stayed here because we were in town for The Mud Girl Run. The house had all the basics that we needed. Communication with Earl, the host, was phenomenal. We stupidly locked ourselves out of the house while exploring the property and Earl spoke to us on the ring camera and helped us get in.
We had a bit of trouble logging into Netflix on the TV (used our credentials accurately but still gave us an error) but that just made us play foosball and card games which was better anyway!
We built a fire in the fire pit and made s’mores and saw a cute baby bear peeking at us from a neighbor’s house, then saw a family of bear cross the street into the woods.
I was very happy with our stay!!!
This was a great place to rendezvous with our extended family. We stayed the whole time and our adult children and their kids visited us. There is a fence at the edge of the property over the river so we didn't have to worry about the kids when we walked over to the river (which you can see in the winter from the kitchen window.) Bear Creek Preserve has great trails, 5 min away.
This place would be perfect in the summer. Adult Kids slept on air mattress in upstairs bedroom and said it was fine. Grandchildren thought the place was "super fine." Definitely warm enough. Pretty easy to find in the dark, with lots of light at night. (Very curvy country road.) Nice firepit with chairs and picnic table for the summer.
The first picture of waterfalls is Buttermilk Falls, on the Bear Creek Preserve, about a 20 min drive away. The other waterfall is Choke Creek Falls, Pinchot State Park, Thornhurst, about 12 min away. Both are lovely hikes, great for dogs and kids. Our dog loved the place, wagged her tail as soon as she walked in. It feels comfortable.
For folks with walking issues, there's easy access to living room and bedroom. There is a little 3 steps up and then down to the kitchen/bath at the bottom of the stairs to the top floor.
We saw deer in the yard several times. The kids played with the Foosball table game. Had no trouble with hot water or the internet. Will definitely seek out this place again, both winter and summer.
