Booking agency changed hotel to The New County Hotel in Gloucester.
Upon arrival late on the Friday evening all was well; warm welcome at reception, check in processed very quickly, allocated a Courtyard Room (C8), twin bedded as requested.
I'm afraid it's all downhill from hereon in; the room appeared to be clean, the sofa was definitely not - detritus under the seat cushions, along with something sticky on the seat edge. We were armed with antibacterial spray and a copious amount of paper towels just in case. In fairness the beds and bedding were clean; that said, it was a shame there was a cigarette burn on my pillow slip.
The major issue with the room was the lack of a window. The French doors to access the room were glass panelled, the only source of natural light. You couldn't use the doors to gain light because you are then exposed to all passing by
