About this property

"The Nut House" Long Range Views & 5 Minutes to Cashiers Crossroads

  • Generac Generator just installed November 2023. No worries about power outages during winter or summer storms!!! The Nut House is a charming cottage that was fully renovated in the fall of 2021. It's ideally located less than five minutes from Cashiers Crossroads overlooking Lake Glenville, tucked away in a private enclave of only a few original mountain bungalows. "Casherz", as the locals call it, has something for everyone from waterfalls, great hiking, shopping, dining and for nature enthusiasts or for those of us who enjoy spending the day reading a good book in the cool fresh mountain air. This area is also very popular for fly fishing with numerous trout streams nearby. The quaint villages of Cashiers and Highlands come to life in the warmer months as visitors of all ages arrive for "Summer Camp" in the mountains. Our home sits at an elevation over 3800 and enjoys a consistent breeze over the lake from the north making summers cool and a respite from the heat.

When you enter The Nut House you will be captivated by the view and all the natural light. The vaulted, beamed wood ceiling and hardwood floors set the tone to frame the beautiful lake and mountain view. The living room opens to a wrap around porch and an inviting seating area with comfortable Barlow Tyrie and Lee Industries outdoor furniture. The kitchen boasts painted and glazed cream cabinets with GE Cafe Gas Range and appliances, quartz countertops, and cookware such as All Clad and Le Creuset. With lots of outdoor and indoor living spaces, The Nut House, has 2 Bedrooms, Bunk Room and 3 full Bathrooms to sleep 8. The master bedroom is located on the main floor with a king size bed appointed with cozy and luxurious linens. The master en suite is exquisitely finished with a walk in shower, large closet and sliding glass door to the expansive wrap around porch. The guest bedroom is located downstairs with its own private bathroom and the bunk room has two twin bunk beds and sitting area. The cottage is equipped with four Smart TVs, one located in the master bedroom, bunk room as well as the living room and the covered porch. This cottage features designer furnishings, hardwood floors, ten foot ceilings, a gas fireplace and last but not least the outdoor smokeless fire pit overlooking the lake- the perfect spot for a family smores' night.

The cottage is an ideal location to go on day trips to nearby towns. The quaint and popular town of Highlands is a short 15 minute drive from the cottage. Other nearby towns to explore are Clayton, Brevard, Sylva, Waynesville, and Asheville. Each town has a charm all their own with hiking trails, shopping, farmers markets and great restaurants. It is less than five minutes to the marina on Lake Glenville where you can rent boats and enjoy a family day of tubing, paddle boarding and sunbathing.

***We're fortunate to have relatively good speed for mountain Wifi, but being that we are located in the Great Smoky Mountains and isolated from metropolitan areas Wifi and Directv may be inconsistent at times. We have Smart Tv's and you can stream, but not with multiple devices simulatenously and again wifi and Directv is not guaranteed due to the terrain. NO REFUNDS FOR WIFI or CABLE***

**The Nut House is NOT a pet friendly home**

**For stays over 14 days, a credit card is required and no refund will be given for a cancellation within 60 days of arrival**

**For security purposes only, a camera is located at the front entrance**
